There is The Truth.
And we each have our unique piece of it.
Our truth.
When you combine all of our respective truth's,
We are left with The Truth.
But what is truth.
How do we know it when we see it?
Perhaps it is easiest to start with what truth is not.
Truth is not the opposite of false.
Truth is not an alternative to lies.
Truth is not a piece of information.
And yet truth encompasses all that.
(Most) everyone believes their version of truth is The truth.
And we see evidence of it everywhere in our lives.
It is the primary reason for us arguing.
It is the main driver of war.
It is inconceivable that your truth could be so different to mine.
You must be lying to me.
Why won't you tell me the, (my), truth?
Clearly we have a problem.
Not everyone's version of truth can be The Truth.
And yet everyone believes theirs is.
A 7,000,000,000 person strong paradox it is.
In truth, with those kind of odds,
humanity has done exceptionally well to be in as good a shape as it is.
So then, back to the question of what is truth.
How do we go about combing 7,000,000,000 truths into one greater truth.
By acknowledging another's truth.
Without necessarily taking it on as your own.
Never needing to believe a word of it.
Only trusting that they believe it
It is in making comparisons between your truth and another's
that you gain a clearer definition on your own
It is in recognizing what doesn't work for you that you realize what does.
The truth is, your truth doesn't work for me. (just saying:)
And now that I know this.
I respect you regardless.
This is what truth ultimately is.
A recognition of being.
A surety of self.
Conviction in what matters to you.
And an honouring of what matters to everyone else.

sounds like a metaphor for this place.....
can we honour the emperor regardless.
and encourage him too embrace a greater truth.
Instead of ridiculing him.
The "emperor" is a law breaker and needs to be placed under arrest. This is about murdering innocent people, not smoking pot or cheating on your taxes.
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".
You go arrest the law breakers and show us all how its done.
Because this thread is about people honouring each others truth
And consequently negating the emperor.
And please note that Jesus didn't turn the other cheek and also reportedly cast a lot more than stones when he confronted the money-changers in the temple (AND NOTE THAT THE "money changers" WERE THE BIGGEST FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS CURRENT U.S. PRESIDENT, SO I GUESS JESUS WOULD BE HAPPY WITH WHAT I'M DOING). Along with thousands of concerned U.S. citizens, we are trying to have Obama arrested. Or at least impeached, especially if he goes around Congress and the U.N. and turns Syria into a parking lot.
Jesus did a lot of things reportedly.
And we al choose to focus on the bits that suit us.
And apply them in a manner that best suits us.
Regardless of what he did,
he held true to his principles.
he wasn't a hypocrite.
