  If you grew up and went to high school in the 60's and don't recognize the unmistakable sound of Karen's beautiful voice and Richard Carpenter's keyboards/musical orchestrations, then apparently you weren't paying attention back then, so listen now, and appreciate musical expertise incarnate.   I found the original artist! Klaatu, and they wrote it as well.
  I really like both. I prefer the Carpenters version, but then again, I usually prefer the one I "heard" first.

  I have always loved this song! Being slightly older, I remember when it was popular on the radio. Always been planning to edit the first part off so I can listen to it looped for an hour or so. :-)
  I wonder if a few hundred folks got together and sang along, from the heart, if it would be heard by the right ones...
