    Most people associate the Rothschilds with Britain, but there were once several branches, across Europe and they all stem from Frankfurt, within what was once, the Holy Roman Empire (Germany came later, in 1871) and Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812) becoming favoured by a German Prince, and so acting as his financial consultant....Royalty described such financiers being appointed, as appointing a "court jew," (as they said then.)

    And in this case, appointed to advise the influencial Prince William of Hesse-Kassel....So making a fortune, from the banking of such vast wealth..
