19 Surveys That Prove A Large Chunk Of The Population Is Clueless Sheeple
Michael Snyder The American Dream June 28, 2013
Are we too stupid to continue as a nation? That may seem like a harsh question, but I think that it is one that we need to ask. Even though we have more access to information today than ever before, it seems like the U.S. population just keeps becoming more ignorant. So at what point does a society become so “dumbed-down” that it can no longer function effectively? We like to complain about our leaders, but the truth is that we are the ones that elected them. They are a reflection of who we are as a society.
And when you compare Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner to men like George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, they don’t fare too well. Sadly, the truth is that most of our founding fathers would not have a prayer of being elected today. Instead, they would be labeled as crazy “extremists” for insisting that we follow the U.S. Constitution. In our entertainment-addicted society, Lady Gaga would have a much greater chance of being elected president today than George Washington would. That is how far we have fallen.
Perhaps you think that I am being overly pessimistic.
Perhaps you think that I should have more faith in the American people.
Well, just consider the evidence. The following are 19 surveys which prove that a large chunk of the population is made up of totally clueless sheeple…
#1 One survey found that 56 percent of Americans believe that it is okay for the government to track “the telephone records of millions of Americans” in order to keep us safe. Apparently those people have never heard of the Fourth Amendment.
#2 When Bush was president, 61 percent of Democrats considered NSA surveillance to be “unacceptable”, but now that Obama is in the White House, only 34 percent of them consider it to be “unacceptable”
#3 67 percent of Americans support the use of unmanned drones in “homeland security missions” inside the United States. What’s next? Will there be “security robots” that stand in the corner and watch us as we eat dinner with our families?
#4 Close to one-third of all Americans would be willing to submit to a “TSA body cavity search” in order to fly.
#5 20 percent of all government workers and 26 percent of all Obama supporters consider the Tea Party to be “the biggest terror threat” that America is facing.
#6 89.7 percent of Americans believe that they are eating a healthy diet. Meanwhile, approximately 36 percent of all Americans are obese.
#7 29 percent of Americans believe that “cloud computing” involves an actual cloud.
#8 One survey found that 42 percent of all Americans are unaware that Obamacare is law.
#9 The average American watches 28 hours of television every week.
#10 According to a survey conducted by the National Geographic Society, only37 percent of all Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can find the nation of Iraq on a map.
#11 Close to 25 percent of all Americans do not know that the United States declared independence from Great Britain.
#12 We are the most doped up nation in the history of the planet. As I wrote about recently, a survey conducted by the Mayo Clinic found that 70 percent of all Americans are on at least one prescription drug. An astounding 20 percent of all Americans are on at least five prescription drugs.
#13 According to one survey, 24 percent of all U.S. teens that have a sexually-transmitted disease say that they still have unprotected sex.
#14 Approximately one out of every five teenage girls in the United States actually wants to be a teenage mother.
#15 As I noted the other day, 48 percent of all Americans do not have any emergency supplies stored up at all.
#16 One survey found that 51 percent of all Americans agree with this statement: “it is necessary to give up some civil liberties in order to make the country safe from terrorism.”
#17 According to a Bloomberg survey, only 16 percent of Americans believe that the Federal Reserve should be abolished.
#18 29 percent of all Americans cannot recall the name of the vice-president of the country.
#19 In 2008, the American people voted to send Barack Obama to the White House. After four years of watching everything that he did during his first term, the American people turned around and gave him another four years.
As a nation, we no longer seem to care much about what the U.S. Constitution actually says. When our politicians tell us that they want to ignore large sections of the Constitution, we just shrug and go along with it.
And we have completely abandoned the values and the principles that this country was founded on. Our society bears very little resemblance to 18th century America, and we like it that way. We like to think that we have “progressed” far beyond where they were at, but the truth is that our country is coming apart at the seams all around us.
In this day and age, it is imperative that Americans learn to think for themselves. Way too many Americans are just like sheep – they just blindly follow the herd.
It is time to break out of “the matrix” and to start seeing things for how they really are. Our nation is crumbling and our leaders are taking us down a path toward oblivion. We need to wake up our fellow Americans while there is still time.

I don't believe that's what John is doing but thanks for your input anyways.
I didn't say smart people weren't happy. I was strictly talking about dumb people.
"I yam a moron and dis is my life.... I'm frosting a cake with a paper knife. duh, yup, yup, yup, we're going to da zoo, yup, yup, yup.
hmm. I agree with everything but I don't see the need to let everyone no how dumb we are as a nation. the signs are already there people just need a wake up call in some other way or form.remeber the media is still promoting negative shit everyday. we need the building tools to fix the mix haps of whats been going on for decades.i think that a lot of you need to no it might take 5 or 10 years or never the possibilitys are endless to awake out of the state there in.or maybe America are just waste of breathe if you want to get technical this is definetly the poison state in everyway. ive been seeing so much chemtrails were I live its ridiculous. but the illusion is just that good I would say than saying dumb down. people are not realizing shit.there to busy with slave work or there dream of a life time what ever you wanna call it.

Time to wake up people.
Well look, I drink tap water, I like gummy bears...and I'm no dummy lol The thing with the mind is, like a muscle, it gets better with use. The more you practice it, and exercise it...the better and more developed it gets. And of course the mind, without a real heart connection...can't get the full scope, definitely when it comes to issues of right and wrong, just and injust, good and bad. And sadly, most people aren't too well developed, in either their mind or heart...so their consciousness is limited.
That being said...there's a few things on this list that are clearly subjective. First of all, the Obama reelection lol Clearly that's a complete bias. Second of all, the body scanning. Some people might only agree to that, in a kind of liberal thinking, that if that what's they need to do to fly, they'll go through with it, without necessarily agreeing with it. There's other things, that while represent a lack of knowledge...doesn't necessarily mean lack of intelligence, there's a big difference between knowledge and intelligence. Knowledge is the ability to know and regurgitate facts...which is important....intelligence is the ability to reason and problem solve, that's important too, and you can't really call yourself smart...unless you can do both. And when those two are put together..added with the realizations that lead to wisdom.....then you can truly call yourself a real conscious person, and sadly..again..not too many people have these down.
Also, one last thing...I never trust surveys of this kind, because they're not representative. Unless you survey every single person in the country, there's no way to get a real accurate assessment of what the country really thinks. I'd assume no more than 20,000 people were surveyed for these questions, and that small sampling, literally less than 0.01% of the population....is hardly representative of the country as a whole.
And this particular article, with it's clear "truther" bias, isn't worth all that much other than opinion. I mean honestly...you can't be all that intelligent if you'd go so far as to say, Lady Gaga would have a better chance being elected President, than George Washington lol I think Mr. Snyder underestimates his fellow man, and needs to get out of truther circles and actually talk to real people, most people are fairly progressive, with at least some knowledge.
JOHN: I was making a joke regarding the fluoride and gummy bears. I tried to do stand-up comedy at one time, and unfortunately some people still take me too seriously. I guess I'll stick with nursing; it pays better anyway.
You're Canadian. You don't count. jk jk jk you count, but seriously... these are US surveys, not world surveys.
Everyone knows North America isn't the most intelligent country. It's very old news.
On another note... ever notice dumb people tend to be happy? Dumb people are usually too dumb to know they're dumb. Ignorance is bliss.
Happiness is a different kind of intelligence lol It's a spiritual intelligence...that recognizes it's better to be happy than not be happy. It's better to enjoy yourself than not enjoy yourself. Some people would rather not think too much about things, and just do what makes them happy...and you can call that ignorant, and it is to a degree, but there's a certain wisdom in that.
It's always better to stay optimistic....instead of get down in the dumpies and pessimistic about things..no matter what the circumstances are. For me, I'm always optimistic...no matter how dumb some people might be, I retain hope....I'm definitely not pessimistic about humanity, regardless of how many bad things we do. It's always better to focus on what you want, rather than what you don't want, and there's a certain wisdom in that too.
Actually Jancar, no, it's not as simple as being ignorantly happy...as that is living in denial of reality...which is an illusion.
No, evolution demands that we KNOW ALL, warts and all...and nevertheless, learn to connect with that inner reserve of joy which rises above all outer darkess......So to KNOW ALL and yet to BE, self realised...and joyous in the midst of disasters and destruction....As the familiar world we see, disintegrates around us, we are fully aware of what needs to change, to move foward to a brighter now, thence a brighter tomorrow....We ourselves are self-contained, aware, yet connected and joyful in our awareness of all...both dark and light aspects....that is wisdom....
It is the evolution of spirit through matter...From the mud to the stars..... ;-) From gummy bears to smoked salmon...Tap water to spring water....LOL
