Dedicated to my sister. Times were once tough, but we taught each other how to move on and love each other once more. Your sickness isn't cured, but our wounds have been healed. You are, and were, always my sister.

Like the sun,
hiding from me behind a cloud,
you've left me,
and I've lost all sense of direction.
Like a candle,
burning in the darkness of a study,
you once inspired me,
now I spite your every being.
Like the irony of everyday life,
you made me laugh,
but your humour is now gone,
along with my love.
Like my best friend,
We were inseparable,
but you found a way,
to pull us apart.
Like a shell,
washed onto the beach,
I am now empty,
yet heavier than before.
Like the waves crashing on a rocky shore,
our beauty stood out,
but you wore me down,
now I am just another grain of sand.
Like all good thing in the world,
we enjoyed each other while we could,
but now it has ended,
and I am left heartbroken.
Like all wrong things in the world,
I hated you for it,
but I realize now... only now,
it was never your fault.

This is beautiful.
love, light & blessings
I liked the part that talked about being worn down like a piece of sand on a beach.
I totally feel like that's what people have done to me as well in some ways, we definitely learn from all of our experiences.
Amazing poem though, thanks for sharing it Graham!
We are all precious tiny crystals eroded by time and space, we will become something amazing...
