Even if you’re not a vegetarian or vegan there are plenty of reasons to add more plant proteins to your diet. Many meat protein alternatives are packed with nutritional benefits – just one cup of Kale contains all the Vitamin A + C that you need in a day. Plants add fiber to your diet, which may lower the risk of heart disease. And by eating less meat you can save the world.. Okay not quite save the world but you can definitely reduce your environmental footprint.
There’s a growing list of athletes who have decided to go on a plant based diet including: Tony Gonzalez, Venus Williams, and Carl Lewis. It’s absolutely possible to gain muscle and succeed athletically with plant proteins. We’re not saying you have to go vegan, anybody can benefit from adding these sources of plant based protein to their diet. See the extensive list below.

Are you proposing that I live on nothing but Potatoes for the rest of my life in order to survive in a self-sustained vego-lifestyle?

If you can't grow hemp in your area, you're not supposed to survive in that area.
