This description is too shallow. We need an elaborate description of how the device works so we may check if it indeed receives signals from beyond or it just generates them. There is a 'device' that we have been, ever since, told 'can see multidimensional beings'. This is nothing other than the brain. You see the same problem where these 'seers' cannot help us at all to rule out that they are hallucinating.
But if we can form a scientific theory of how these 'multi-dimensional' signals interact with matter, then we can find out how to check for these signals.
