The balance or equilibrium thing has a connotation to duality. It makes sence only in terms of duality, for it needs two diffrent forces to create balance.
Interestingly, we have such thoughts even in language. Interest, coming from latin inter esse means being in between - having interest is being in between certain things. The connotation is balance.
Or think about the latin words in medias res, meaning in the middle of things - the connotation is also balance.
Balance or equilibrium is not a state of peace and love and blablabla, but a state of having two opposite forces working together in order to have a stable effect called momentum of balance.
This is also valid in mental affairs when it comes to stable momentums of mental balance. But there is an effect many don`t keep attention. Sometimes you must stop feeding one side too much. If not, the point of balance becomes hard to reach.
Too much love will kill you, and so too much ignorance too. Too much study will make you sick, and so too much lazy hanging around. Too much holiness will make you impotent, and so too much horniness. Too much searching for enlightment will dry you out, and so does stuffing your mind with shit. We must not forget:
beauty is built of balance and so is love; truth is built of balance and so is understanding; goodness is built of balance, and so is letting go.
This is the beauty of duality. It is a divine gift challenging us to look for balance. A very dynamic happening...
