Wow, this is really "trippy". I can't help myself from looking at it, but I really don't know what is going through my mind when I am viewing it. I really really like it, the vivid colors, and it does definitely have a alien and cosmic feel to it. It is an Excellent painting. What is the medium, watercolors? Incredible talent here. WOOWWWW!
thx Marique. still trying to understand it myself. oil over pencil on canvas. I took a picture of what it looked like before I painted it and posted it on my blog, http://mviola3.blogspot.com so you can check it out.. I love to see how art work evolves. What's even trippier is that after I had this painted I saw the David Icke interviews with Credo Mutwa as he shared Zulu creation story. Behind Credo is a mural that he painted. In it I saw the same elements that appear in my painting and its bizarro title. He had a dolphin in the sky next to a reptilian alien head that was next to a star. in my painting what started as a star became a hexagonally cored web... the bird head upper left strikes me as completely mayan.. bird tribe, bird people, I have a deep connection with birds. The alien appears gray and fish like and reminded me of the Babylonian god Oannes...
trippier still: I was painting this along the Hudson river over the summer. Kids love painters. Four little boys no older than 7 come running up . They love it, cheer cheer dance dance, one asks what's that and points
to the gray head, and the other little boy responds," they're fish people, kinda like Gods..and they run stuff." um, okay, thanks kids.
