I think Jesus was a great man...I was born a Catholic just from birth. That does not mean I agree with everything in that religion but I do think it is imperative that children are thought basic moral behaviour. It boils down to this, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Catholic religion in Ireland is a cross between the old Celtic beliefs and rituals and the church teachings.
I do not believe abortion of healthy children can be tolerated...that is human sacrifice in plain sight.
I do not believe in the death penalty as that is murder by mind control and conformity.
I believe men and women can be treated equally in a meritocratic way. Some men in waitress and some women shovel on building site. All for equality. It is not all about getting the power jobs.
Now, what point was I going to make.............oh yes. This planet is an insane asylum. There are many religions and if only one is right, (if even that), well that means 99.9999% of the people on the world have psychosis, are delusional and completely in a fantasy land. It is a crazy thought to think that all the people we meet are mental. There is no getting around this fact no matter what religion or non religion you are into, science being the latest fad.
They are all useful in their time.

Panacea: I always look at it this way: The word LIE is in beLIEf, that's why I prefer to deal with FACTS.
Agreed with your whole article.
The problem with religion is simple: narrow mindedness, dogmatism, group thinking, following the leader, confirmatory bias, unquestioning 'known facts', sense of having all the answers, parroting authority, thinking inside boxes etc. These vices exists in full blown way in our 'science' while they think that if there remain antagonistic to god, they are save from the dangerous pitfall that bedevils religion. How naive!
Roaring Lovely: Agree with you.
