Last night, for the first time I can remember, I met my spirit guide in my dream.
I always have ridiculously vivid, detailed dreams that I remember well, and for the most part last night's dream wasn't that atypical. But at one point, I transcended the "normal" action of the dream. I created some kind of gateway using light (I'm not sure how it worked) and went through it to talk to my spirit guide.
I can't remember her name, but she looked like a tremendously round, almost Buddha-like black woman. She radiated serenity and understanding. She didn't say "I'm your spirit guide." I just knew she was. I knew her, and she knew me, and I had nothing but respect for her.
I was talking about how hard things were. She told me that I could always try again if things didn't work out, that I could go back again and repeat the cycle. But I told her I didn't want to have to, I was tired and I wanted to get things right THIS time.
I was made aware that I had important work to do, and given three silver coloured objects - I've no idea what they were or what their function was, but they were small, roughly the size and shape of cigarette lighters or pen drives (perhaps slightly larger), and whatever it was they did, I was told each one could only be used once.
Then I left and found myself back at the gateway I'd created, with everything still going on as I had left it.
Nothing like this has ever happened in one of my dreams before. Anyone else had a similar experience lately / ever?

Yes, I have tried and succeeded a couple of times in lucid dreaming. It takes practise and doesn't always work, but when it does all I've done is fly! That's all I ever really want to do in my dreams, the feeling is incredible. If I could wish for anything it would be to fly :)

It certainly sounds like an amazing dream, thank you for sharing. I have not had a recent dream experience like this, however, recently my son and I saw my totem animals in a cloud formation, and I had a powerful response when meditating on it with a word or a name repeating in my head and a strong, yet peaceful vibration. I feel ignorant to inturpret dreams, so I hope, perhaps, we can learn more about your experience. Wishing you much love, light, and peace : )
