I was watching a story just a moment ago about a baby who died in the care of a babysitter. When they wrapped up the story, the presenter said; "The babysitter is of Taiwanese origin. With the stress on 'Taiwanese'. I sat there thinking .. What the fuck? Do you want me to think that all asians are baby killers or something? Do you want me to hate Taiwanese people now just because a baby died while in the care of one and the babysitter hasn't even been proven guilty yet?
I expressed my frustration out loud in front of my Dad and Stepmother who were watching the news with me. "Why is it so important that they have to tell us what nationality the suspect is?" My Dad and Stepmother just shrugged it off and ignored me. Each to their own. I know people will probably say don't watch T.V but I sorta have to. It's the only 'family time' I get, not that I enjoy it. But I have to watch SOME TV so my parents don't bitch and complain that I'm being weird and unsociable.
