I`d like to share some further thoughts on the complex of augmented reality. It is not only technical enhancement in creating new mind sets of being almost unable to differentiate between "real" reality - that of normal life - and virtuality appearing very real.
There is a shift happening in considering questions of conscience. As I told in the first part, real wars become part of augmented reality and it`s perception modes influencing heavily any conscience perception. The fighter killing real people will be tempted to believe, he has only acted in a virtual room in a virtual game.
Commanders need such approach. In former times one man in an execution squad had a blank cartridge in order to support the imagination of all members, that "I have not personally shot the subject". I have spoken to a guy who shot a couple people in ww II in a concentration camp, and he told me, shooting someone is not a simple thing, all his life he suffered from what he had done. By managing a conscience shift in contemporary war fighters by letting them fight in a virtual room any concerns and objections are deliberately diminished.
But the virtual fun has also occured recently in another field - human sexuality, which I find very impressive and noteworthy.
In the middle of the 20th century sexuality became a very important ralation to advertisement. It was mind influencing connecting a nice car with a nice and sexy lady. You know, what I`m talking about.
Now sex is a strong thing pushing minds and imaginations. Stimulating the libido make humans manipulable beings. It is not only stimulating someone to buy something, but also to look for pleasures in almost boring life styles.
And here I see a link to another form of augmented reality approaches. The Viagra pill - basicly developed for humans with pathological libido problems - has become the entrence to a funny realm of another virtual reality.
I remember a scene Casanove wrote about a strange meeting. One day he met a nice guy the ladies said, he was able to satisfy a couple of women over a couple of hours. Good old Casanove took the challenge, and both men decided to have a sexual showdown at a certain time.
Casanova wrote, he prepared himself by drinking a mix of eggs and red wine. Well, and Casanova did win the contest finally...
I also remember in former times, when there was a porn we watched secretly, we wondered about the power of certain male actors: God, how he can do it that long? Is that possible?
Viagra has opened a door to a virtual reality, which makes men believe, they are now really kings. It is so amazing, how men now fake their potency thinking, that women would them more love and more appreciate now.
The experience of such virtual reality can be fatal. Some get heart attacks. My friend, a doc, told me, that some dudes have taken 2 or 3 pills at once! Crazy! Another thing might be the burden many women have to bear. An older lady - around 70 - told me, that she is tired of her husband, because he comes crawling each day to her asking for making love. And I alway have to laugh when I meet a nice younger guy - he is an undertaker - telling me from his secret Viagra trade. It is unblievable, and sometime very funny, how even younger folks is living with this shit.
Viagra has given men the ability to live their lives with lies by creating sexual virtual realities and imaginations of sensual mastership...
