Ayurvedic Method: Oil Pulling

When you spit it out, it should be white, but no worries if it is a more sickly color-- that means you just needed a bit of extra healing for the day. Then, rinse out your mouth with plain old water or a mouth wash if you wish. Do not swallow the oil as it is now full of nasty toxins.What it does is stimulate a process by which the oil draws toxins from the blood and organs out through the mouth-- kind of like those foot pads on TV that advertise pulling toxins out through the bottom of the feet.People have claimed that this cures pretty much everything if done over a long period of time. The owner of the website claims that it has the potential, matched with other practices, to help you live for over a hundred and fifty years!

Hi Amelia, I have been doing the oil pulling for two months and I have also been taking one 1tablespoon internally every morning after I finish the oil pulling. I have noticed an immense difference with my health such as, finger nails stronger and growing quicker, my thoughts have been alot clearer and alot more easily focused and I am feeling less cloudy in the head, I have way more energy and I dont get affected anymore at work as our office is a continual bacteria festival. Also I had candida from being sick and antibiotics for about 6mths a while while ago and it has now gone, my skin and my eyes are alot clearer. The coconut oil I use is a light one I get from my friends who order through fair trading and it doesnt have a major taste! Also too after three weeks I noticed waking up with the cleanest mouth I have ever and there have been alot more difference with my health too in a positive way from taking this internally. All I can say is keep it going and you will notice a difference!! Ask away for any questions.

Been doing it for four days now... It isn't unpleasant at all anymore. In fact I kind of look forward to it every day. I had a lot of tooth pain going on prior, but have not had a single tooth ache since I started!

  Yeah, I've been using plain ol veg oil, and it's not that pleasant for a couple of seconds.

I'd like to update that only after my first try, my toothaches ceased. Did it for the second time today. I have a lot of phlegm coming up as a result of doing it-- sometimes that can happen. I just keep spitting it out, and I feel so clear!

Exercising first thing in the morning before anything else, is great for detox. The liver processes a lot of the crap in your body over night and a lot of it sits in the liver. Exercising gets it all moving out of the liver, gets the whole system flowing and your body gets oxygenating. Contrary to popular belief, intense exercise is bad for you. Walking, fast walking, jogging at an enjoyable pace, cycling and swimming are all excellent.

The theory of oil pulling sounds interesting, but for me a pure diet and daily exercise is my preference. Any detox is a great idea.

I should have specified, obviously, that I mean vegetable oils, or olive oils, or any basic cooking oil, organic or otherwise.

    Might help, but one of the things the author of the site stresses is that this is a method to go after the "root" of many or all diseases in the body-- therefore, specific outward signs of stress or disease may not necessarily go down within the first couple of weeks, in fact, they may even get worse before they heal (as is the nature of the immune system). It is supposed to be a daily practice, however despite the time it may take, there are very, very few cases of this NOT working, at least in surveys in India, in the long term. Many claimed it cured certain cancers in them.
    
    To make my point short, tell your friend not to get discouraged from the practice if it does not immediately cure his or her throat.
