Observe, take notes and don't fill in the blanks. That is more accurate than trying to remember something you only vaguely remember.
The problem is that those who believe in the Mandela Effect also believe that their notes and Wikipedia change once their perception changes. This means if you remember that Abraham Lincoln died in 1863 and Wikipedia says it was 1865, that the current version of Wikipedia was created in a parallel reality. It takes some courage to believe that...
I don't think the Mandela Effect happens a lot. If it happens it's like a déjà vu experience, a shift in perception or a reoccurring memory that makes you think twice. It's easy to fill in the blanks when you have an experience like that, but once you start filling in the blanks you start creating false memories.
It's better to accept the experience as it is, to observe it and to be honest about what you know and don't know. The more you observe, the less you assume, the closer you get to the truth.
I believe that the so called Mandela Effect is for a large part based on a lack of knowledge (how many North Americans know how bananas grow?), a lack of experience (traveling to India to see the Taj Mahal) and poor memory. If you never delved into the subject, never checked the spelling of a name (why would a Polish pope not have a Polish birth name?) and never seen a pyramid up close, how can you really remember?
The more people actively use their minds, the less the Mandela Effect occurs.
ivy, you are both logical and rational. most people see without observing, hear without listening and have selective memory troubles....;-0 attention spans need improving, as do reasoning skills..
Remembering isn't the same as knowing. I wonder if he has seen the Taj Mahal for real or does he only remember it from photos he has seen as a child? He also has a problem with the spelling of foreign names and words like Kuala Lumpur, which is understandable but it's not a paranormal phenomenon. (I spelled 'phenomenon' three times wrong ;-)
