I had a dream about a week ago and I half woke up, kinda woke up in the dream, and there was some type of dark entity attacking me! I was kind of stuck there with this dark negative feeling attacking me, I sent white light at it and asked archangel Michael for protection and sent more light and it eased off then i went back to being fully asleep.
I understand we are doing a lot of work in the etheric in our sleep at the moment with clearing negative energies etc do you think that is what I was doing but became aware of it for a little bit??

Hello Alice. Yes, you were clearing out your negative energies and were aware about it at the same time. The Sensible thing is that you've asked Archangel Michael for protection and sent white light at it. You can even ask Archangel Michael to take that negative entity to Light and fill it with love and light or just simply ask him to take it away with him. You can also send Love energies (Light Pink Light) to that negative entity. Or, even activate the Violet Light/Flame.
Different people interpret this dream in many different ways:
Some may say that those dark entities are energy suckers from the lower astral world or hell.
You may be facing your fears which are blocking your path to Ascension. etc
There may be many reasons as to why this has happened/happening to you. The best way you could learn/interpret these things is from your own experience, because it will be an unique experience for you.
The way I see it, to be honest, you have done very well tackling the negative entity.
Next time if this event occurs, do the same thing and send love to it. Let it know that your love towards it is Unconditional.
This is because, it might be that your being tested for your honesty, integrity, fearless etc. So just pass all your tests. ;p)
Btw, I've a few questions for you:
1. How do you know that it was a dark entity? Could you see it? Or sense/feel it?
2. Was this the first time you've been attacked by a dark entity?
3. For how long where you in this "semi-dream" state with the dark entity ?
4. Could you move your body whilst you were in this "semi-dream" state with the dark entity?
There's actually a scientific term for this, but I'm sorry, I just forgot what it is, it is a dream state where you're mentally active but your physical body is paralyzed.

To answer your questions... It was very negative and I could feel that it was a being of some sort, I did not see it but I have a picture in my mind of what it looked like but I didn't actually see it as such... If that makes sense?
No this was not the first time it has happened, all the same type of thing but different ways. Always in the dreams I try to turn my head and look to the side or look somewhere but it is just black and I can't see further than a certain point, very frustrating when this happens, and it feels uncomfortable.
I am not exactly sure on how long it was there for there was no time as such.
I could not move my body but I think i was maybe able to move my head, but not in the physical.
I think there is a thing called sleep paralysis?

Yes you're right. I know how it feels when you say it's uncomfortable. This has been happening to me for quiet sometime and it has no particular pattern that it follows, it happens at random in sleep.
At first it freaked me out and then I started to figure out how to deal with it. First steps that I took was - fighting with it, for this I used to have OBE's (out of body experiences), even in this state I couldn't see it, but could sense or feel it. Then I came to understand that fighting is not the right option even though I used to win.
I learnt that the best option is to love because even those entities were looking for love or they feared love. So either way it worked. I also learnt that we are being tested by these entities so as to prove that we are worthy enough for the Light.
But it still continues to happen and I don't know why. So I've decided to contact my spirit guides and Archangels etc to find out what do they have to tell me about this.
I think this will take sometime for me. I'll keep you updated if I find a permanent solution to this problem.
