Demon Posessions

Recently saw a movie called The Rite and it's based on a true story about a guy and his adventures in exorcisms. I'll say it first, I'm not a true believer. I just have a really hard time believing that the Goddess made us to be truly powerful beings but our kryptonite is demon possession. Seriously? Often I hear people say that the voice change of the victim is a sure sign of possession. And I'm like, dude, that's called voice acting. Think about it, the voice of Bart from the Simpsons is a woman, the same goes for The Fullmetal Alchemist. Yet one would never think there is a chick behind the character.

Others say that because the person demonstrates psychic abilities, that's a sign of possession. Wrong again. In light of the fact that Man does not use the full capacity of their brains means that there is room for the possibility that this person is demonstrating latent psychic skills. In the movie, two of the characters seemingly manifested nails in their body and began coughing them up. It was a bloody mess, but once again, I say it's psychosomatic. So crew, what are your opinions on the subject?

hmm interesting topic. I believe there are lower level astral entities that can influence us and take our energy when we are vulnerable. Edgar Cayce tells a story about watching french foreign soldiers who were very drunk... they were surrounded by black wispy beings that entered the soldiers.. thereafter the soldiers began fighting amongst themselves violently.

However we do have "alters" in our consciousness that could be facets of ourselves that are shunted aside, such as in multiple personality disorder. It's quite possible that a gifted psychic who is repressed could exhibit signs of possession. I am sure that's how 90% of these stories start out. The real possession, to me, is what happens when someone becomes a drug addict, that stuff is the real evil, it steals your soul...

I don't take devil stuff very seriously, though when I was a kid the devil movies always scared me the most, lol. I've seen Prince of Darkness probably ten times now...

  Lol, Prince of Darkness always did kinda bore me, but The Exorcist is really good. Paranormal Activity is another good one. Anyway, I agree that we can be influenced by astral beings. I'm of the opinion that they're just ghost running around wreaking havoc and being stupid. And I can see how multiple personality disorder could be a factor. In the movie, the behavior of a pregnant girl starts changing when a priest gives back the bracelet she lost. It was a gift from her father who raped her. Clearly she couldn't handle the situation and her mind fell back on demon possession to cope. What a strange way to cope.

  I agree to this point of Edgar Cayce as if we are drunk our protection layer falls off making us vulnerable for the lower entities to take control of our mind and body...
  
  But about demonic possessions they are true as I have seen many....
  
  The reasons are many better not to look onto the darker side of life rather look at the brighter side of life will help us to rise higher......

    I gotta disagree with you on possessions. Often we see and hear that we are powerful co-creators and such. So what, did God create us to be powerful but our one weakness, our one kryptonite, is demon possession? Seriously? We're either powerful or we aren't. I don't see that there is a middle ground, in my opinion. Additionally, in light of the fact that we do not fully know what humans are capable of in the psychic arena, to fall back on demon possessions as the answer to odd behavior doesn't make sense. As for the "darker side", just what is supposedly over there? Why should anyone fear it or steer clear of it?
