  Sounds like a scaled up version of a 'spybee'. These devices, (which are a bit smaller than the ones you have described) used to float around in high security underground facilities and spy on people. I guess it would be logical to assume that the concept has been developed further into an all singing all dancing population control robot. fabulous.

    Awesome, i love it when these connections happen, what do you feel was happening? Maybe documentation, i dont know, maybe this is taking place right now in the astral realm. Now that i know you had a similar dream i believe something, someone, or some force is trying to tell us something by creating elaborate visions of a situation. Maybe it was our higher self creating these visions. Since all consciousness is connected its possible that we picked up on a plan that is in the works and were shown this plan to us in the form of a vision kind of like a painting. For example, you could listen to people planning a vacation to rome , visualize it and paint it onto a canvas even though it hasn't happened yet. I believe the dream world is much like this, a canvas for the imagination, consciousness and truth to paint.

  I must add that the robot cameras did not look intimidating or menacing at all, they were the color of a brand new white car and didnt seem to want to harm us at all.
