This is my special sustainability guide for the green wandering outcast adventurer. We don't have to remain slaves to the system. We have the ability to free ourselves. First off, there are a growing number of these Electric Homes, but finding them for sale is another story altogether.
The Golden Gate by Jay Nelson. "The Golden Gate is an electric camper car measuring 96"x54"x64". Made with fiberglass, epoxy resin, plywood, glass, bike parts and electric motor. The vehicle can drive 10 miles on a charge and goes up to 20 mph. The interior has a kitchen with sink, stove, cooler, storage cubbies, toilet, a bed and storage below the bed. All of the controls are in the steering wheel. The driver sits cross legged while operating the vehicle."
Sustainable Eco Friendly Living for Cheap or FREE
Free Energy Devices. (Solar Panels, Tesla coils, Ring of Magnets, Wind, etc. Free Energy Generation is the core of the whole thing. You need to be able to charge you batteries, including the ones the home will run on) There are places you can charge, such as Libraries, but I find the best way is to rent a room in a mobile home, and then sublet the room to someone else. This way you pay the owner for the room, and the person renting the room pays you, and you can still hang around, use the kitchen, bathroom, wifi, electric, lot space, mail box, etc.
No license, registration, car insurance, or gas cost, unless you want something faster then 20 mph, and durable enough to actually go camping. Parking is probably good at 24/7 parking lots, or park between two houses for the night, they will each think it's a guest or a neighbor bought it. Pick a new spot often, or just use lot space.
Depending on your situation: there are places to find free meals, clothes, cellphones, food stamps, medical, etc. You could travel all over the country this way, but getting the right situation with renting out a trailer room can take time, etc.
It is especially favorable for making money online or travel related. The good thing about doing it this way, you have a home mailing address, and are saving all of your money. None of it is going to any reccurring bills, except maybe a cellphone plan. Free phone and text is possible.
The really hard part is finding / building one. Unfortunately, Rhoades Car set the precedent for expensive scam pricing of anything bike related that's more then 3 wheels. $5000 for 4 seats, some tubes, wheels, axles, and canopy is ridiculous. This thing doesn't even have a motor. What this really is, is is a collection of cheap bike parts that some clever person assembled for $4000. This is one case where you are forced to find the parts and make it yourself.
It leaves you with a choice. Build something 20 MPH, and recommend pedals for backup and good for exercise, goes anywhere a bike / mobility scooter goes: sidewalks, bike lanes, slow roads, inner roads, grocery stores, etc. The other option is to really max out the motor speed and battery range. Ideal setup is to have a free energy device to recharge the batteries. Then you can use all the roads, but are subject to necessity of license, registration, and car insurance.
There is probably a way to recharge the batteries just by peddling, and that could be incorporated into the design. Adding pedals along with the motor also gives you the ability to reach faster bike speeds and avoid obstructing traffic.
