Everything You Wanted to Know About Dolphins The Dogon tell the legend of the Nommos, awful-looking beings who arrived in a vessel along with fire and thunder. The Nommos, who could live on land but dwelled mostly in the sea, were part fish, like merfolk (mermaids and mermen). Similar creatures have been noted in other ancient civilizations -- Babylonia’s Oannes, Acadia’s Ea, Sumer’s Enki, and Egypt’s goddess Isis. It was from the Nommos that the Dogon claimed their knowledge of the heavens.
The Nommos play an important role in earth’s evolution. Right now they are the guardians and guides of the portion of Etheric Sirians who are in dolphin, whale, and mermaid/merman bodies in order to maintain the biosphere of earth.
"The Dogon say that their astronomical knowledge was given to them by the Nommos, amphibious beings sent to earth from the Sirius star system for the benefit of humankind. The name comes form a Dogon word meaning 'to make one drink', and the Nommos are also called Masters of the Water, The Monitors, and The Instructors. They came to earth somewhere to the northeast of the Dogon's present homeland. When their vessel landed (after a 'spinning or whirling' descent and with a great noise and wind), it skidded to a stop, scoring the ground....At that time a new star (perhaps a mother ship) was seen in the sky." The legend depicts the “Nommos” as partly fishlike in appearance and living mostly in the sea. These creatures bear a striking similarity to the creatures called Oannes by the Babylonians and the Sumerian creature called Enki. Even the Egyptian god Isis was depicted as what would be later termed a mermaid. In all cases, these “gods” were related to the worship of Sirius. The Dogon, say that the drawings on the walls of their cave showed them about certain beings who came to Earth a long time ago and information about where they came from. These drawings show a flying saucer coming out of the sky, and landing on three legs. Then it depicts the beings in the ship making a big hole in the ground, filling it with water, jumping out of the ship, and into the water, and finally coming up to the edge of the water. These beings looked very much like dolphins. In fact, maybe they were dolphins, but we don’t know for certain. They then started communicating, and described where they came from, and gave the Dogon tribe this information. source A very interesting mythological story about whales and dolphins concerns a tribe in west Africa called the Dogon of Mali. The Dogon, whose culture is alive and well today, at one time lived on the southern coast of the Mediterranean. They have many religious and creation beliefs which very much involve the whales and dolphins. They have perpetuated these beliefs in their religious ceremonies and in the form of sand drawings. In their basket weavings they had 50.8 divisions, the reason for which is that they had quite specific knowledge of the Sirius star system which is a binary star system. They understood how Sirius B, the white dwarf, moved around the main bright star Sirius A. They used sand drawings to illustrate the orbital paths of the stars. The white dwarf Sirius B takes 50.8 years to complete an orbit of Sirius A. The Dogon knew this. Sirius B, the white dwarf, is not visible using a telescope whereas radio astronomy allows one to hear Sirius B. Arthur C. Clark simply said to Temple, "You would be interested in the Dogon." Richard Temple began research on the Dogon and discovered how much knowledge the Dogon had of the Sirius Star System. He then went on to spend seven years of his life with the Dogon and wrote a book called 'The Sirius Mystery'. When Temple went to meet the Dogon he asked, "How did you get this knowledge?" The Dogon's answer was very simple. They said, "These creatures came from the star Sirius, landed in the ocean and were in the form of amphibians, whales and dolphins. They gave us the knowledge about the Sirius star system." source Sumerian Dolphin Folklore In Sumeria, dolphins were connected to Ea-Oannes, the deity of the sea, and sometimes with the goddess Isis in Egypt. The ancient Celts attributed the dolphin with well-worship and the healing powers of water, and the image of people riding dolphins is seen on some Celtic artifacts. Some Australian Aboriginal tribes claim to be direct descendants of dolphins, who are sometimes regarded as guardian spirits. The dolphin is also an important symbol in heraldry, the art of creating coats-of-arms, and represents diligence, salvation, charity and love. source Dolphins and Healing Perhaps the only species that compares well with Homo Sapiens in intelligence, dolphins possess an innate gentleness and a mysterious power to trigger the healing process in humans. "What makes dolphins exceptional in therapeutical fields," explains Rene, "is the use of their sonar with which they echolocate their prey. There is evidence that dolphins trigger the healing process in humans by boosting the production of T-cells and endorphins. After patient and dolphin interactions, scientists have measured a far greater harmony between the left and right sides of the brain." He informs that dolphins produce an intense amount of echolocation energy, which resonates in the bones, such as the skull and the sternum, and then travels up the spine. "Many therapists believe," says Amanda Green, a marine biologist, "that a dolphin's sonar causes a phenomenon called cavitation inside the soft body tissue of the human body. It precipitates a ripping apart of the molecules." So, if sonar does that with cellular membranes, it could completely change the biomolecular structure. She adds, "many hospitals already use a lithotripsy machine that uses low frequency sound waves to break up kidney stones and gall stones. The physics of that machine are not different from a dolphin's sonar." When you encounter a wild dolphin in open waters, something breaks open the conditioned seals of your heart. "Dolphins make you feel accepted as you are, with unconditional love," explains Amanda. This, she feels, leads to a profound inner peace that reaches out to embrace the universe. In scientific terms, this is biophillia, the transformative power that links you to nature, and, going by recent research, dolphins could be the most powerful carriers of this emotion. source The Origin of Whales and Dolphins According to Science Millions of years ago, a cow-like creature resembling a wolf in appearance, walked on the land in the continents now known as Europe, Asia and North America. These animals were of the now extinct family of Mesonychidae, and as they competed for food on the land, some began to search the waters for food. Generation after generation passed, and the Mesonychidae began to adapt in their new environment. They lost their fur to become more streamlined, enabling them to swim more easily, leaving bare skin over a thick layer of blubber to provide insulation in cold water. Their entire body too was re-shaped to become streamlined; external ears vanished, front legs became flat pectoral fins (flippers) to provide steerage and the back legs were replaced by a muscular tail ending in broad flukes (tail-fins) which, when moved up and down, provided propulsion. To make breathing at the water's surface more efficient, their nostrils moved to the top of their heads and became blow-holes. Thus, from the land-dwelling family of Mesonychidae a new family was born: the family of whales and dolphins. source Dolphin Dream Analysis Dolphins that leap in and out of the sea may represent communication between the unconscious and the conscious mind. alternate interpretations: 1. These intelligent mammals are a sign of advancement through your own mental vigor, but other details of your dream should also be considered, such as the condition of the water and the location and/or action of the dolphin. 2. To dream of a dolphin, indicates your liability to come under a new government. It is not a very good dream. 3. Dolphins tend to be very spiritual creatures and we associate them with beautiful harmonious feelings and great intelligence. They can link with good communication within a relationship and spiritual excitement. So look for such themes right now in your life. 4. Dolphins live in the sea and that is symbolic of our feelings and emotions and also those of others. So in many ways dolphins must be linked with emotions. Dolphins are very friendly sociable creatures and have highly developed intelligence. These are all good clues to their symbolic meaning. Native American Symbolism of the Dolphin Dolphin: A symbol of power and control. Also a symbol of kindness, but has the nature to be playful. Dolphins Wisdom Includes - Knowledge of the sea, change, patron of sailors, harmony, wisdom, balance, Communication skills, freedom, trust, understanding the power of rhythm in your life, use of breath to release intense emotions, water element magic, unselfishness. Dolphin reminds us to get out, play and most importantly, to breathe. Dolphin Trivia Dolphins recognize themselves in mirrors—one of the few mammals other than humans that have the ability to do so, according to a new study published this week. Described in the May issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the study found that dolphins not only can recognize themselves in a mirror but also can notice changes in their appearance. Prior to this research, only higher primates, such humans and chimpanzees, had demonstrated self-recognition in mirrors. source Dolphins have never in all our history been known to attack man -- even when man tries to make him. The dolphin will resist even until his death. This alone leads me to believe that there is something superior in dolphins than in any other creature, including man. C.S. Lewis, in Perelandra (book two of his space trilogy), wrote about a planet where God had created two intelligent species, one that walked on the ground and one that swam in the oceans. |
