Status update! Facebook has changed YOUR email address... without telling 900million users

f you haven't looked closely at your Facebook contact information in a while, then it may come as a surprise.

The social network with 900 million profiles, has taken it upon itself to change users' email addresses and replace it with one that ends in '@facebook .com'.

The changeover happened today, with each individual's personal email account being hidden in place of the one Facebook thinks you should use.

It means that anyone who searches for you on Facebook and wanted to send an email will now only be able to see @facebook.com - unless you manually revert.

This means the email will come via Facebook messages instead of another account.

Technology blogs lit up after outraged users noticed the change had occurred.

'Don’t do this again,' wrote Gizmodo while Forbes.com declared it 'presumptuous'.

Facebook claimed the change is to protect users' privacy and security by not displaying a personal email address but the site's more generic one.

Thanks for the info. I am going to check mine now. Actually I was always a little leary of posting my real email address on Facebook as there are a LOT of crazys who I don't really want finding out how to contact me so perhaps in my case it's all right to make that change. I realize that 'Facebook Founder' is hooked up with Google which is CIA spyware. In fact, please everyone, use IXQUICK HTTPS, for your search engine as they don't record your p.c. number as the other search engines do. Thanks and Love, Yvonne

Wow Tyler You touched the button here facebook are behind the illuminanti plan to promote violent chnage in ever y country form 2010 and they have done that and the finale is Syria followed by Iran islreal pakistan ,,So the down fall is Russia and China and now they have issued Exetivie order for national Emergency So they are ready to flex there last muscles

We should be careful they will not like losing

Every one is to take heed just make sure we have canned food and water

all this fear mongering yet I see facebook as another venue to vent our issues, messages' and information. every internet, social site, spies on us so what's a big deal about facebook ~?~

Facebook is not really a social network but a trap set by people who have little life of their own and they start interfering like spying into other peoples lives... The Internet is there for people to use but not for unwelcome people to get into your lives, your affairs and your accounts.

Facebook nooses into your private and confidential affairs and follows you even when you have logged off ...in other words it is not their business but they having no life of their own so they start interfering with other peoples lives ... The owners and staff of Facebook should be arrested and all their wealth taken from them and distributed to the needy.. They are interfering with human rights
