  Experts hesitate to say the video is real. "It looks almost too good," saysPeggy LeMone, an atmospheric scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado.

  "[But,] if it is real, it's called a superior mirage, which just means it's an upward projecting mirage," says Jill Coleman, an atmospheric scientist at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. It could be something called a fata morgana, she says, which is a certain kind of atmospheric mirage.

  To get a fata morgana, you need cold dense air near the ground with a layer of warmer air above it, Coleman says. This is called a temperature inversion, since it's the reverse of what usually happens in the atmosphere. They usually occur over large bodies of water since the air tends to be relatively cooler close to an ocean or lake surface, but can form over land too.

  This kind of layering will bend light rays as they pass from one air mass into the next. Those light rays are bent in such a way that our brains are tricked into thinking an object is higher than it really is. (Learn about other weird atmospheric phenomena.)

  And since a person's perspective can alter the appearance of a fata morgana, the further away from an object a person is, the taller the object will appear, says Coleman.

  That's likely why in the video, "the city looked like it was floating on cloud nine," she says. It would probably have looked very different to someone standing in the center of the city.

  A fata morgana is why people can sometimes see ships "flying" through the sky or a "wall" of water dominating the horizon. In fact, this type of mirage could be how the myth of the Flying Dutchman—a ghost ship that sails the high seas—got its start. And according to historian Tim Maltin, a fata morgana could have contributed to the sinking of the Titanic.

  Coleman looked at atmospheric conditions over Jiangxi and Foshan, China, during the time the video was supposedly shot. "They did have temperature inversions going on during that time period," she says. And some of the buildings in the city below the clouds look similar to what shows up in the sky. So Coleman thinks the video could be real.

  Fata morganas can be quite common in certain parts of the world as long as conditions are right, says LeMone.

  They're common in polar regions, says Teresa Wilson, a graduate student in physics at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, in an email. "But [they] can happen anywhere." People have even seen fata morgana in the Strait of Messina between Italy and Sicily.

  With respect, that all looks like fear porn to me, bro .. you appear to be focusing on chaotic global disasters and catastrophies, eathquakes and massive floods etcetra, with all this talk of rain water everywhere and so forth, I mean, whatever floats your boat (pun intended) but I dont think its going to happen. Also, where did you hear about the ET intervention stuff? You say ETs intervened to prevent that Californian Earthquake, where do you get THAT information from? There is so much I could go into surfice to say I dont really buy into the scenarios that you are  proclaiming here, maybe its just your perspective, based on what you have studied up on but its always healthy to remember that whats true for one may vastly differ to that of their neighbor.

  There are seven billion people or more on the planet, all with their own unique perspectives, truths and beliefs or belief systems, studies and collected knowledge, i.e. Shamans, holy men and women, tribes people, witch doctors, bus conductors, painters, poets, car park attendents, pop stars, quantum therorists, astronauts, nurses, firemen, slakers, drug addicts, great speakers dedicated to unveiling the cosmic plan as they see it, you name it .. you are just one of them, like me, with his own take on life.

  Aquarius is a water sign but it dosent mean that the Earth will be flooded by this time next year, it sounds too doom laden to me, you know, end times etc, like the Earth will cleanse itself and great torents of water will wash over its surface, wiping out all in its wake, is this the three days of darkness scenario? 

  Sorry brother, I appreaciate your sharing what you feel is going to unfold but usually these kinds of predictions either fizzle out like a dying ember or tend to get "canceled" at the last minuite, just like a Pan Am flight from New York to Shanghai due to weather conditions, until the next big announcement wets everybodies appitite, before the dish is then taken away from their table, just like a prediction that never transpires, generally always a false alarm or at best, a bit of an anti climax. Indeed, enjoy life on Earth, 3D style, if you can.

  You are dishing out "dates" Goldenmind, (3 to be exact) in the so called "future", that major events / changes "will" occur, but nobody knows what will happen on those dates, not a single soul in the world. Can you provide the source material that backs up your claim to these so called events supposedly taking place? One thing I always do when I write anyrhing is include the words "to my understanding" and "it appears to be" and "as I see it" etc, because in doing so I cover my own ass, because if I am mistaken, then I can always say that I never said anything "is the truth" rather, it appears to be, to my understanding at least, insofar as I see it, the truth.

  People have predicted major changes for years, making big announcements about imminent cosmic events and issuing dates that all this would actually take place, just as you have done here, but they have never ever ever happened, so quite naturally, it gets filed in the "whatever" catagory.

  I shall be the first one to eat my hat if what you claim transpires on "said dates" but I aint holding my breath, indeed, to my logical observation and understanding, it appears that predictions such as these are best taken with a grain of .....
