EARTH WISDOM: JUNIPER

From Puakai Healing

Botanical name: Juniperus

Junipers are evergreen trees with needle-like leafs that give way to healing deep blue berries. The Hopi believe the spirit of the caretaker of Earth travels with the juniper tree.

(Note: I did not see any blue berries. The photo above was what I saw with juniper as I approached the Kachina Woman rock formation).

Plants metabolize sun rays into energy for the wellbeing of all life on Earth. Each plant and tree species has a unique spirit or energy form, a consciousness we are able to connect with if we expand our awareness and tune in.

There are some who believe the juniper is one of our spiritual guardians. Natives once burned the needles of juniper for purifying spaces, the luminous energy field and in ceremony and ritual.

Juniper fortifies and purifies our spiritual will, energetically increasing the crystalline light structure of the etheric body, creating an expansion of consciousness. This allows more light assimilation in the physical body, bringing deep feelings of unconditional love. Juniper also cleanses and purifies the physical and emotional body, releasing stagnant thought patterns of anger, frustration, irritability and anxiety. It opens our heart chakra aligning us with our Soul group and bringing in feelings of safety and protection. (Deborah Eidson, Vibrational Healing)

On a physical level, the needles and berries may be boiled into an immune strengthening tea that helps heal ones digestive system, pulling energy into the solar plexus chakra. This juniper berry tea acts as a diuretic to help support the function of the liver and kidneys which can optimize the body by expelling toxins. It unwinds blockages in the liver and works on the emotional body, continuing to work on the whole right side of the body, the emotional. It is unwinding emotional blockages to our expression. The energy flows through the right side in the emotional body, and then goes back into the physical liver – healing in the liver and the eyes. Juniper intermingles and blends the energies of all the chakras, distributing them along the central nervous system and supports and energizes the endocrine system. (Star Johnsen-Moser)

"I’ve found this breakdown of the Book of the Dead and the Papyrus of Ani. It helps illustrate exactly how the ancients viewed the journey through the Duat:
