A hair-raising video has emerged that a car full of masked robbers exploding moments after they raided a church in Russia - and witnesses insist they were hit by lightning.
The dash cam footage uploaded by YouTube user World News TV, shows a vehicle speeding along with a police siren sounding in the background.
All of a sudden the car bursts into flames and explodes, sending debris all over the road.
The vehicle filming the incident immediately slows down and pulls over.
According to a caption accompanying the video, everyone in the runaway car died as a result of the electrical bolt.
It is not known how many passengers were traveling at the time.
Another car was also damaged in the supposed accident which allegedly took place on December 9.

And now my two cents: After reviewing the video, it's obvious at seconds 13 and 14 that the car in question collides with another oncoming vehicle. There was no bolt of lightning, this was just a collision at high speeds.
Actually, the new scentific clues are that it's not safe at all. All exposed metal in the car becomes dangerous to touch or be near, and there's nothing that says that the lightning will not choose to also go through the car as well as on the sides. I've seen videos where the lightning have gone through the windshield and down between the driver and the passenger, through the gearbox and then into the ground.
So, don't be in the car if there's an option to be elsewhere, during a thinder storm. :)
Lol, they must have transported dynamite or something in that car, and the flash just happened to hit right where it was stored. :)
"And why did the screen go blank right before explosion?"
Because the camera doesn't have a framerate and light sensitivity that is high enough to handle the light levels from a lightning strike. It just records "white noise" during the moment of the flash.

rubber tires repel the earth's elec field to meet with the lightning bolt
No they don't. The Spark Gap isn't big enough. remember, the lightning have already jumped form the clouds to the ground. 2 extra inches of rubber won't do much difference there. The lightning will just bypass those, as it did with the 5 miles of air it just traversed. ;)
I've heard that-rubber repels the
