How prepared are you for when something 'big' happens?  Alot of people are just hoping for the best and are TOTALLY unprepared if a crisis were to come.  Food disappears in the shops in a matter of 2-3 days.  Could be overnight even.

If you can put aside the 'fear' in accepting that the economy could (and will anyway) collapse, the power grid shutting down, or anything else natural that could strike the earth - it does help to be prepared, for you and your animals.

Being prepared helps to tackle the fear.  Once you have a good plan in place and get your head around things mentally, you can and are most likely to remain calm if something were to happen.

While you may not believe in guns like people in the following youtube clip (and the rest of the National Geographic clips), the Preppers are a good example of people who are prepared in hard times to come. 

There are also plenty of youtube clips of people who share their dreams of food shortages to come as well as economic collapse.  Some of these people who have even had these dreams do not appear to be prepared either.  They too are believing that higher powers will take care of them.

This is a balancing act of being prepared in every way possible (as it's just wise and smart to be prepared with food and water supplies for short-term survival, and for those who can plant and grow their own food for long term future survival).  Remember the story of Noah and his ark? People would've called him crazy but he was lead to build the ark then bring the animals onto it. 

For myself, I have prepared 2-3 weeks worth of food, mostly because I had a dream that my galactic brother will come after the economy collapses (the great evacuation/rapture). 

Maybe these youtube clips could serve as a good reminder to 'get ready' just in case.

  Learning how to make yogurt is also a good idea. You can make from powdered milk. Also learn to make damper/scones. Thermometers help to determine the temperature.  Gas stoves will be required (NOT open fires as you don't want to be seen).
