BANGKOK: -- Bangkok residents will soon benefit from wireless electricity, after the Ministry of Energy and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration today announced plans for a major redevelopment of the capital’s electricity network.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration believes that the new wireless electricity scheme, also known as Wi-Fi Electric, will revolutionize the way people in Bangkok will be able to use electricity in all aspects of their daily lives.
No longer will residents have to worry about running out of battery power or having to charge their smartphones or tablet computers using a mains adapter.
Instead they can rejoice at being able to play Candy Crush Saga and Cookie Run on Facebook and Line, or taking an unthinkable number of selfies on Instagram at anytime of the day or night, without the need to recharge.

Wi-Fi Electric will be supplied direct to an electronic device from a series of state of the art power terminals which are currently being constructed at key strategic points across Bangkok (pictured above).
Wi-Fi Electric will also mean an end to the mass of untidy and dangerous power cables that create an unnecessary eyesore throughout the city.
The voltage of the Wi-Fi Electric is 110V in the initial BETA phase, but 220/110 converters will be on sale for 995 THB at selected 7-Eleven stores across Bangkok, where users will also be able to redeem 7/11 stamps towards the cost of purchasing a converter, shown below.

Thai residents in Bangkok are invited to sign up for Wi-Fi Electric at their local Metropolitan Electricity Authority office, ensuring they have a copy of their ID card.
Foreign nationals residing in Bangkok who also want to apply for the Wi-Fi Electric scheme will need to submit the following documents along with their application:
- Original passport, with 3 photocopies
- x3 copies of valid visa
- 4 passport photos, 4x3cm
- Copy of yellow Tabien Ban
- Copy of condo rental agreement where applicable
- Photograph of applicant stood outside place of residence
- Birth certificate
- Map to house, condo or place of residence (Google maps not allowed)
- Copy Marriage certificate
- Copy of Children’s birth certificate (where applicable)
- All copies of documentation must be signed and dated
- Only foreigners married to a Thai national qualify
Speaking at the launch of the Wi-Fi Electric scheme, official spokesperson, Mr Somchai Wittiporn said “This is a truly great day for the people of Bangkok and for the Thai nation as a whole.
“Today will go down in history as the day that Thailand became the worldwide hub of wireless electricity and follows on from other successful government initiatives such as the rice pledging scheme and providing our thriving Prathom student population with tablet computers.”
With the initial launch of Wi-Fi Electric set to commence in Bangkok later this week, it is believed that plans are already at an advanced stage to introduce this new technology in regions throughout Thailand, most notably Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket and Hua Hin.

They'd have to amp up the Wifi-transmissions to braindamaging levels to substitute for all the electricity that is currently delivered through cables.
Bankok would quickly become the most violent city on earth.
And, this is NOT Tesla-tech. Tesla would never be this stupid. He worked with far lower frequencies than the ultimately ineffective and short ranged gigahertz-band ;)
The tech described in this article is just one step ahead of the Crystal Reciever, and it would require the cell-towers to go from sending watts to sending kilowatt or even megawatt-signals instead.. At least if they want to use the power for something other than charging cell-phones. :)
I figured it was not safe for humans, and I know I am right....I know that the power company put wireless power usage boxes on everyone's homes here in Florida against their wills and people started getting sick in droves, and here if you do not allow the boxes you are charged a whopping hefty increase in your bill, which I begrudgingly pay because my health is fragile at best and my room mate is very ill most of the time as it is....Having a massive microwave receiving and sending devise affixed to your home is so not a good idea....Good luck to the humans of Bangkok...I am sending my prayers their way...this is a horrible thing that those people will be subjected to...I am sure and mark my words...No good is going to come from this...I see it as blatant genocide.....we will see...
Microwaves excite the water in our cells which makes us jittery, irritable and both physically as well as psychologically stressed.
Inducing such things on a large scale would be The Perfect Recipe for Civil War.
You should file a complaint to The Court Supreme where you accuse that power company of subversive activity through electromagnetic terrorism. ;)
What a great idea AO...I might do just that....
Since the charge is also scientifically sound, I think they'd have some difficulties dismissing it in the first stage at least. :)
This is revolutionary news, but are we sure that wi-fi electricity is really save for humans????? I hope all proper testing has been done on the long term affects it may have on the human body...Studies and case histories are proving that prolonged use of cell phones is horrible for the human body, so I am hoping if they are going to full fledged signals to product the electricity that it does not fry the brains of the people who use it...I have my concerns...
Thanks for sharing this....something to look into for sure. I hope it is safe....I don't know all that much about it, so I simply don't know the effects it will have on a human body. Anyone here have any ideas on its safety????

They tried it in Buriram and overnight all the birds dropped dead obstructig traffic in some places. Didn't work very well anyway.

"
And since the conversion is only as efficient as a solar panel:

which means 6-10%, the transmitter would have to pump out 6 thousand watts of energy just for me to be able to turn on my computer. The microwave oven I have in the kitchen is 600W for comparison there.. ;)
Is this safe?
Probably not, at least not if they want to use it for something more than just charging cell-phones. :)
