There are only 500 humans left in the world. They are divided onto two boats in the middle of the ocean. One has 300 people and the other has 200 people. You are following above in a helicopter. You are told that one boat belongs to the Cabal while the other belongs to the Light, but you don't know which is which.
Simultaneously a massive hole explodes in the sides of each boat. Both are in danger of sinking and only you can repair the hole. However you only have time to repair one boat. This means that the other boat will sink with all hands lost. Furthermore you do NOT have enough time to investigate which side a given boat is on AND save it at the same time.
Each boat is holding its maximum capacity of passengers and cannot hold any more. You and your helicopter do not count as passengers. Your helicopter can only hold one person, you.
There is no possibility of outside aid available and no one to delegate tasks to as you are the only one qualified to repair the holes or investigate the boats.
What will you do, and why?

This is a modified version of a hypothetical scenario I was once asked to solve as part of a lesson.

HEHE I love this, this is something they cannot escape from. There is no way to know who to save, and intuition can and has been wrong so many times. Please send me an email detailing the original question scenario and a little bit about where you got it and stuff. I like these srots of lessons to those who are unable to think clearly.
I love how solarkid just changed the rules, not understanding this type of questioning.
Wait a second... this doesn't makes sense, if there is 500 humans left in the world, and they were in the boats, doesn't that mean I was in a boat also? lol someone else can answer the next stage ;)
lol, weird scenario, I would save the 300 one.
They may not be the cabal as they are more than the other boat, and I would save more people...
