Obviously, we all find ourselves still trapped in a state of duality. There is so much confilct in and around us, but it is the same place where out of that conflict can come a silence which is the opposite of life's noise and immature nonsense. All the answers you need will you find in silence. So how does one acheive it? One must be passive and alert. It is not something you should try and search for or attempt to accomplish..this is the conflict in itself. The struggle of desire to be silent will not make you silent nor by any form of compulsion towards silence. Look at it like this, the silence of the whole mind is meditation. All of the world, people, our jobs, family, friends are constantly fighting for our attention and doing a great work to keep us from entering into ourselves to rest and expeience silence. It is the natural state of our soul! Everything in and around life is blind, only the quiet mind can really see. When one has the smallest success then it can become very possible that the mind of itself will become extraordinarily quiet. All the noise and disturbance before that will vanish and just simply be gone. You will need great determination and engery not to find this, but rather to let it fall upon you. Beleive me, you will never acheive silence with repression, resistance or by any other disipline or conflct. Meditation itself does not assure you of success. It has a lot to do with the state and additude of your heart and I need not say more. If and when you discover silence for yourself, then you will know and meet something very, very new in your life...exactly just that...Silence. Something very sacred with a strong creative power which will always be diffcult to explain to anyone but many around you will sense great peace in your presence simply because it is very rare in today's society. The fact that All is One exist in silence. This is what I'm praising on this full moon and it never has to be verbally spoken unlike those who are speaking or affirming it today. This is where the great difference of duality seperates those who know and don't speak, compared to those who don't and do. Peace, be still!

Just recently my husband and I took a mini-vacation to get away from the deafening sounds of this city, and we went to a little beach area just North of us. We slept in the back of a van, which was not very comfortable, and I got up and built a small campfire and just listened to the silence. It was so beautiful, and really quite overwhelming because the silence had such a power and profundity to it. It's really difficult to explain. One would have to experience it to understand it. But, silence is my favorite music these days.
