I don't actually label myself as a conspiracy theorist, but I am becoming increasingly interested in understanding the world and why things are the way they are, and what is keeping them that way. This involves learning about some pretty horrendous stuff, that could be pretty depressing if I let it.

I am wondering: would it be better to be blissfully ignorant? It's much easier to be an optimistic beacon of hope in the world when you don't actually know about some of this stuff.

Is it really helpful to research conspiracy material? Can I really change these situations anyway? (probably not) Or would I be better to focus on envisioning how I would like the future to be, and doing what I can to make this happen?

I'm sure we are all familiar with the Law of Attraction, and how by focusing on something you create more of it. I can see that there are some inherent dangers in getting bogged down in some of the terrible things that are going on in our world.

What are your thoughts? Is it useful to engage in this stuff? Or would we be better to focus our thoughts and energy on what we want instead?

Conspiracy theorists: how do you find a balance?

Interested to hear your thoughts.

  • Ummm....maybe I am a bit slow....but I think I get the gist...!
  • As a conspiracy theorist I can tell you Ignorance is not bliss.
How can you possible hope to change the world, or at least positively impact upon it, when you ignore what is ACTUALLY happening with it. It's very easy to pretend things are fine and nothing is wrong but that is just ridiculously unrealistic.

Sure being ignorant might make you feel better, but it doesn't make you a better citizen of the Earth.
    • I feel the need to acknowledge your reply Halderon, but I am not sure what to say!! The Ashtar pic did make me laugh though! ; )
    • I do basically agree, with the proviso that we don't get bitter and twisted, blaming or fearful, and actually use the info constructively. I know a conspiracy theorist who is practically frozen in anxiety about what he thinks is happening/going to happen. That helps no-one.
    • I so agree with you Lilitu, and I am definitely a conspiracy theorist by nature. Being subdued sheeple with blinders on will not improve the quality of life. Ignorance because it is less distressing than the truth and blind trust because it is easier are not a good roads to travel. That is how the dark intentions has crept into every area of living so incidiously, while people were not watching or really seeing behind the scenes.... There is so much going on out in the "cruel world" that people should be aware of and not turn blind eyes towards. Being a Pollyana is not a good trait in this day and age. People need to know what needs to be changed in the world by knowing what exactly is happening and being done and why and by whom, no matter how distressing and shocking the truth may be. Then one needs to try, after seeing the big picutre, to concentrate on fixing what needs fixing through any efforts possible toward that end and by positive manifestation of desired outcomes.
      • I don't consider myself a "conspiracy theorist"........I am a "conspiracy knowist". LOL Don't you know who came up with that label "conspiracy theorist"? It's the dark hats doing their best to make people feel bad about investigating and discovering the Truth about their shenanigans. Truth is Truth....what is theory?

And, you can say that again, Marique, about Pollyannas. And don't I know? Been there...done that. Or how about an ostrich burying its head in the sand? NO, NO, NO!!! Don't tell me that....I don't want anything to shake my comfort zone, or my belief system (which is BS) :)))))
        • Conspiracy Knowist - I LOVE this!!
  • Very nice topic....thanx for posting...
Yes...i agree with all thoughts here...
The important for me too is to focus on what we want to create, than to just
blame the current corrupt situation...We have understand that Earth's situation now,
    (humanity, environment,animals),
is bad, so we need to focus our thoughts and actions on how we can make things better..
Yes 1 person maybe feeling too weak to change the whole system...but the thing is,
that we are not only 1 person...we are many who becoming One...
And many more will join in time, like the snowball rolling down the hill.....
Its up to each and every one of us to focus on the positive life that we want for all...
and each one needs to find ways, with whatever way he/she feels is better for him/her,
to move in this direction...not only by thinking of it...but by acting on it also....
What actions we can Do???...well..its up to You, to decide about this... ;)
    • Yes, it's good to remember that it's not just up to us individually, but our collective conscious intentions and and actions are powerful when combined and the effect is multiplied. Together, we can bring about the changes we want.
  • First of all, Merryn, I ab-so-lutely do not believe that ignoarance is bliss. How many blissful people do you know. Ignorance is what has gotten us into the mess we are into.

My feeling is that one has to have some idea of what is going on before they even have a desire or intent to change it. We have been such sleepyheads for so long that it's been very easy to dupe us. However, I DO agree with you that it would be far better to "focus our thoughts and energy on what we want instead." Energy flows where attention goes. So, this begs the question do we want to perpetuate what we are experiencing, or do we want to cre8 Heaven on earth?
