I was very moved by what Joel said in this talk. I have noticed that there are a good number of teens and 20 somethings here on this forum, and if some of you are feeling lost, lonely, bruised, broken, or unsure about your future in general, I highly recommend watching this video. As a gay public figure, it was very brave of Joel to speak so candidly.
In his speech, he says to hang in there, and give life a chance. Ending your life is certainly an option, but so is weathering the storm, learning life lessons, and gaining wisdom, so you can experience the many blessings that life has to offer - once you get over that hump.
Teen years are very difficult, especially if you feel alone and misunderstood. I'm glad the internet is available to many, so at least you can connect to likeminded friends online. You are never alone. You are loved and valuable. Weather the storm.
