Waiting is boring, frustrating, and unsettling, especially when you are seriously attached to the outcome — what happens when the waiting ends and you find yourselves fully conscious, fully alive, and filled with joy. But what if it doesn’t happen?!
Your doubts and anxieties are very understandable because in your illusory world disappointments are common, and are expected. Children look forward with excitement and enthusiasm to birthdays and Christmas, and when these dates arrive, after the initial moments of joy, normality returns, because the excitement was all in the anticipation and the occasion fails to deliver fully. Yes…new toys are fun, but the anticipation was in the seeking and in the expectation of eternal joy — and in the illusion that is unavailable.
Children grow, and as they do, experience teaches them that disappointments are common. By the time they become adults this pattern is well ingrained, and being let down is something they have come to expect. So here you are — waiting for your move into full consciousness. Time is dragging, your doubts and anxieties are intensifying, and you are beginning to believe that you will be disappointed once more.; This is a tough time for you.
But disappointment will not be the outcome! God has promised, and He always delivers — abundantly! Your fears and anxieties are unwarranted and without foundation; they are as illusory as the illusion. You need only release them and they will dissolve. In the illusion the worst thing that can happen is death, but all that means is that you have laid down the vehicle that enabled you to experience the illusion. Is that really such a loss?
While you inhabit a physical body you experience separation; without it you are no longer limited in that way. If — when you vacate your body — you are in denial about the Reality that is God, you may well fall into a deep, dreamless sleep during which healing and recuperation occur to prepare you for your unavoidable awakening into the realization that God is, and that He loves you because He created you eternally One with Him. For those stubbornly holding onto this atheistic belief, awakening into Reality will be an amazing and breath-taking shock, for which adequate preparation is essential to ensure that the experience of awakening is exhilaratingly joyful.
Exhilarating, eternal joy is what you are waiting and longing for, because it has been promised to you, and deep within yourselves you do know that that state of existence will soon envelop you. You see signs of it everywhere, every day, but because the waiting has been so long, and because you have experienced many disappointments, doubts and anxieties remain. The mass media reports disasters of all kinds as frequently as possible, with live pictures to confirm them, and possibly many among your families, friends, and acquaintances discuss and argue about the bad news.
You need to remind yourselves constantly that life as a human is an illusion. Take quiet time-outs daily to relax alone, paying no attention to the media or to personal worries and anxieties, as you remind yourselves that you are perfect divine creations of infinite power and ability bestowed upon you by God, and that you are presently experiencing an extremely unpleasant dream from which you are soon to awaken.
If the illusion continues to seem very real, as well it may, look around you at the insubstantiality of everything, and remind yourselves that everything you see wears out, falls apart, and decays. Nothing in the illusion lasts. Whereas God, All That exists, is eternal, everlasting — and so are you! To concern yourselves and worry about things that by their very nature can only decay makes absolutely no sense. Accept your own deep inner knowing that you are One with God, that eternal happiness is yours, and let go of your illusory worries and anxieties as you wait in peace and contentment for the glorious awakening that is soon to come.
