Apparently the Nasca Lines signified different landing areas for different et's who then headed off to different parts of the globe. At the same time why would et's need visual ground support unless each symbol would attract certain groups to that area.
An excerpt from 'Exploring Atlantis' by Frank Alper.
...Let us talk for a few moments about an area with
which most of you are familiar to some extent. This
area is in the mountains of Peru. Many of you have seen
pictures and movies of what seems to be landing fields
high in inaccessible mountainous places, areas that
could have been reached only from the air. There are
patterns and lines that seem to be etched into the
surface of the ground. This area did not harbor a city
per se. It was a landing field and a transfer station used
to bring beings to this planet and then transport them
to areas where they were to reside.
I do not mean to give you the impression that the
Earth was bustling with civilizations during that time.
However, there were many experimental groups that
landed in various parts of this world for varying periods
of time. Most of them left when their work was
completed. Very few left a mark on the planet for
mankind to rediscover at a later date.

Your Welcome (I beat you to it!) Exploring Atlantis is available as an ebook for about $6
Your welcome-I met Frank Alper a couple of times in the 80's-his small lectures were peaceful and non-confrontational that is why his channelings are more believable to me.
