"Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise."
"Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop."
"There comes a pause, for human strength will not endure to dance without cessation; and everyone must reach the point at length of absolute prostration."
"If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."
"I have had prayers answered - most strangely so sometimes - but I think our heavenly Father's loving-kindness has been even more evident in what He has refused me."
“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”
LIFE IS LIKE A QUICKSAND
“Every event in life can be causing only one of two things. Either it is good for you, or it is bringing up what you need to look at in order to create good for you.” – Deepak Chopra
"When you feel “stuck,” the first thing you want to do is struggle. Flailing about, throwing your weight around, trying harder and harder, pushing against the resistance you feel when you start to sink you begin to panic. When you begin to panic; you start to struggle against the quicksand, trying to pull yourself out of it, but by doing that, you only sink deeper. Only these things don’t get you unstuck. In fact, they tend to make you sink deeper into whatever problem you are trying to solve.
From time to time we all have problems that seem to take on a life of their own. We try to solve them, but the solution doesn’t come easy. We try harder to solve the problem, but the harder we try, the more we feel like we are getting nowhere. This is feeling stuck. It’s only when you stop, and try to increase the amount of body surface that is touching the quicksand (by laying as much of yourself flat as you can) that you can get out of the quicksand. But, this method is not at all your first instinct. It requires slowing down, assessing the situation and then using your brain, not your muscles, to get you out." ~ A.Linehan
"Quicksand may simply look like a pool of mud, but once you step into it, you’ll notice that the sucking qualities of quicksand are stronger than those of mud or other mucky terrain. And if you struggle while trying to remove yourself from the quicksand, you will likely become more deeply entrenched in it. Instead of making a bad situation even worse, follow these steps:
1. Relax your legs, and don’t make any quick movements.
2. Keep your arms and head above the surface.
3. Move legs slowly, one at a time, trying to free them from a tight suck at the bottom of the quicksand pool.
4. Lean backwards and try to float on your back so that your legs rise to the surface.
5. Spread out your arms and legs on the surface of the quicksand to increase your surface area.
6. Once you’ve achieved a back float position, look around for any solid branches that you can grab and pull yourself to safety.
7. If you pull on branches or other vegetation, remain in the back float position to keep your weight evenly distributed on the surface of the pool."
Getting Un-Stuck
1. Stop – A really simple first step. When you notice that you are “sinking,” stop struggling immediately. You don’t want to sink any further.
2. Sit down an allow yourself to enjoy the rest, that’s what feeling stuck is when mind is too busy to make a decision.
3. Focus on the present – Don’t worry about things that have already past, don't rush (to the future) – be patient with yourself.
4. Acknowledge the problem- situation.
~Quick Sand~
I stumbled and fell on the marshy life's trail,
The bumps and bruises hurt like a sharp nail
I got stuck and was sinking slowly in the quick sand,
My body and mind just refused to understand .
The divine intervened and awakened my soul,
"With Life 's ups and downs don't loose your goal,
Arise and navigate yourself to the road of healing,
Listen my dear take control of your feelings"
Let go off what was there once but exists no more,
Accept and come to grips with what life has in store,
Forget the dark shadows, focus on the silver lining,
Slowly rise from mud and look at the stars shining.
Every weather has something to offer in life,
When it's raining ,let it rain, be positive and strive,
Make the best plans for the sunny days ahead,
Get motivated to face life's challenges instead .
Flow, don't fight with life's surprises good or bad,
Look for happy moments ahead even when you feel sad,
Embrace each situation and grow ,don't falter and fall,
Changing times of life , we have to face and cannot stall.
These were the lessons life taught me when I was sinking,
I arose to live life again with a change in my thinking ,
New hopes and dreams imprisoned were released ,
Happiness ,tranquility and peace were bequeathed .
I listened to HIS voice ,time passed by slowly
Thank you GOD for guiding me and being with me wholly .

spirituality - to me is self realization of divine Fragment within. It's not a place or methods, but an approach to Life. There is a difference between been responsible and seriousness ... And you must concentrate and focused on human existence - as YOU - it's your evolution however remember about your divinity.
I am still an apprentice of my life ... which is ok, there is no rush to obtain more then i can 'chew' at this moment.
;-)
... ;) an instruction of how to save yourself ... from ashore ... lol ... some times that's what it feels like ... guidance ... which gives you some directions without reaching hand, just to see what happens next ... can we do it or do we reach the bottom and then we would feel calm ... ;) - life is funny and the end is always unpredictable for sure.
Thanks Drekx ;)
Hello Ara, my dear....I'm glad you appreciated my somewhat violent lesson about life and quicksand....I hope nobody found that too graphic, but I thought it an excellent tool for demonstrating the truism that life can be a drastic upturn, or rapid downturn in fortunes....We must make our own luck, as it were....So that even the most dire of circumstances, with evil poised to destroy us, YET, we reverse fortunes dramatically and escape the quicksands.... ;-)
Incidentally I have not spoken to you recently and wondered how you are, dear friend....I always enjoy your wisdom and compassion....thankyou for posting this thoughful forum...
Also I wonder if you would like to peruse and contribute any thoughts on my Prism blog, especially with reference to recent Russian actions to aid Snowden...?? and yourself being Canadian, of Russian origins..
Blessings, Drekx ;-)
The west is currently engneering bad press for Russia....much is contrived rubbish and all based on a western desire for revenge, over Russian good will towards genuine whistleblowers, such as American patriot and hero, Edward Snowden....
Keep resisting evil.....dear mother Russia....

the Wisdom is everywhere ... in each individual ... so why not indeed.
and Calmness in our behavior: which consists of a serenity in practical matters of life and in private
behavior, and a calm approach to solving any problem which the individual might meet.
I like this: "When God cast me as a pebble into the lake of life, I caused bubbles at its surface and
circles rippling out to infinity. But when I reached the bottom, I became calm." ... lol ... sounds familiar ...
we are born to die ... ;) if you think about it, the concept is easy, but there are always some inner 'tests'. Some people don't afraid to die, but living - some times i have goose bumps by simply looking around and thinking to myself - the older we get the roller coaster just starting to pick up more speed ... ;) - the prospect is truly not desirable ... but then i read this in Urantia: about the uncertainties of life: - apparently we are our 'worse enemy' - we desire too many things, without even remembering about it and then feeling 'stuck' ... ;) However it makes sense ;) -
The uncertainties of life and the vicissitudes of existence do not in any manner contradict the concept of the universal sovereignty of God. All evolutionary creature life is beset by certain inevitabilities. Consider the following:
(51.5) 3:5.6 1. Is courage — strength of character — desirable? Then must man be reared in an environment, which necessitates grappling with hardships and reacting to disappointments.
(51.6) 3:5.7 2. Is altruism — service of one’s fellows — desirable? Then must life experience provide for encountering situations of social inequality.
(51.7) 3:5.8 3. Is hope — the grandeur of trust — desirable? Then human existence must constantly be confronted with insecurities and recurrent uncertainties.
(51.8) 3:5.9 4. Is faith — the supreme assertion of human thought — desirable? Then must the mind of man find itself in that troublesome predicament where it ever knows less than it can believe.
(51.9) 3:5.10 5. Is the love of truth and the willingness to go wherever it leads, desirable? Then must man grow up in a world where error is present and falsehood always possible.
(51.10) 3:5.11 6. Is idealism — the approaching concept of the divine — desirable? Then must man struggle in an environment of relative goodness and beauty, surroundings stimulative of the irrepressible reach for better things.
(51.11) 3:5.12 7. Is loyalty — devotion to highest duty — desirable? Then must man carry on amid the possibilities of betrayal and desertion. The valor of devotion to duty consists in the implied danger of default.
(51.12) 3:5.13 8. Is unselfishness — the spirit of self-forgetfulness — desirable? Then must mortal man live face to face with the incessant clamoring of an inescapable self for recognition and honor. Man could not dynamically choose the divine life if there were no self-life to forsake. Man could never lay saving hold on righteousness if there were no potential evil to exalt and differentiate the good by contrast.
(51.13) 3:5.14 9. Is pleasure — the satisfaction of happiness — desirable? Then must man live in a world where the alternative of pain and the likelihood of suffering are ever-present experiential possibilities.
