  ..and i love cheeseburgers too... but only with the cheese inside...

  (maybe instead of the meat, i will put the mashed-sweet potato between the cheese slices... ;)

  Wow I never thought of adding turnip or parsnips to mashed taters......I love both turnip and especially parsnips so I am going to try it.  It seems darn near impossible to find parsnips here in Florida though and turnip is hard to find too....wonder if those are a northern food mostly.  I never had any trouble finding them in Maine.   They have a lot of turnip greens down here so there must be some turnips that went with the greens, lol.  I just have to find them, haha....

  omg! I loved sweet potatoes, I especially love em mashed! I like to add cinnamon, brown sugar, and bake em topped with small marshmallows!

    ummmy...love marshmellows..... A friend of mine makes it in a casserole dish and not only puts maple syrup but mushed banana and raisons....with mellows on top.

  Figured since we were talking about mashed sweet potatoes I would share my favorite recipe.  I love yams and sweet potatoes...I did not miss the pun in this post, but it made me think of food.....yummy.

   

  Prep Time: 10 Min

  Cook Time: 20 Min

  Ready In: 30 Min

  Original Recipe Yield 6 servings
  

   

  Ingredients

  • 6 sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup

  Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender, 20 to 30 minutes.
  2. With an electric mixer on low, blend potatoes, slowly adding milk, about 1/2 a cup at a time. Use more or less to achieve desired texture. Add butter and maple syrup, to taste. Blend until smooth. Serve warm.

    you may want to skip the milk, butter and sour cream.. animal fat is poison and prevents us from ascending.. Consider coconut oil instead of butter, and here is a recipe for hemp milk and cream.. http://www.bryannaclarkgrogan.com/hemp_milk.html
