Ask any coal miner - where does coal come from... They tell you that coal is actually the product of carbon material that were once trees and even rainforests.
Some of the mining towns where the coal is extracted are now just dusty old towns, usually quite uninspiring to be in.
However, once they were rainforests, probably 200 million years ago.
Here is a timeline of several periods on Earth, where mass extinction events took place, forming a new age. Some of these periods had no human existence, or animals for that matter. There are no human or animal remains found in the coal during this time. (Sometimes sea shells are found in coal however) but not usually humans.
I would have liked to have lived here then, there'd be no one else to have to share the Earth with, except your own tribe. The place would be yours to enjoy.
