MEET THE 23-YEAR-OLD PAINFULLY DUBBED ‘UGLIEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD’ AND SEE WHAT SHE’S DOING TO FIGHT CYBERBULLIES
You may or may not have heard of 23-year-old Lizzie Velasquez. She is a woman with an undiagnosed, extremely rare condition in which she was born with no body fat nor does she have the cells to support storing fat.
Velasquez has been featured in the news and on shows like NBC’s Today Show, and is a motivational speaker. She is also somewhat of a YouTube sensation withmore than 60 videos ranging from a day-in-the-life to hair tutorials to motivational messages. Collectively, her videos have gotten more than 4.5 million views. But with Internet notoriety comes Internet trolls — or cyberbullies.
Due to her lack of body fat, Velasquez only weighs 60 pounds and while others her age have taught skin, hers hangs loose in many areas. She is also completely blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other. Velasquez writes on her website that only three other people in the world have a condition similar to hers, which she notes is like progeria but that condition is terminal and has more complications than what she experiences.

I think she is lovely.
Well thanks Lori lol - Headnod -
But I guess on a higher level, it's meant to be....she was meant to have detractors...and people who tease her and challenge her....it's meant to be that way. I'm really starting to understand now, how it's not smart...or wise...to judge anything....everything happens for a reason, even the bad stuff. Life knows what it's doing.
I don´t see anything ugly about her. Isn´t Hillary Clinton the ugliest woman in the world? At least she´s spoken of sometimes as if she were......no?
The strongest souls always get the toughest challenges....I know that lol But if you can stay happy and positive and strong, no matter what's going on in your life, you won. People should have respect for this person, imagine if they were experiencing what she was experiencing, would they be as strong, probably not. It's amazing how people don't seem to think all that much....or have a heart.
She seems to be doing okay for now as long as she eats all the time, although loosing her vision is definitely a big concern. Unfortunately, when there are only two or three other people in the world with the same syndrome, it makes it harder to study the disease and come up with a treatment plan. But I agree, hopefully there is something, or will be something soon, to help her and the others.
I cannot understand how easily people judge a person just because their appearence.. I've watched few of her videos and she seems to be an awesome person! Really strong of her to stay as happy as she seems to be and have visions in her life despite all the negative people.
I watched the video where she was being interviewed and thought the same thing. She sounds so vibrant and happy. I like how she explains that just because someone calls her a name it doesn't mean that is what she is, but only that person's opinion of her.
Yeah, if one believes in soul-contracts, then I think she planned it before incarnating in order to see how far you could go and still keep a vibrant and positive attitude, and from what I see on the outside she is doing very well :). The disease seems horrible yes, but for a greater purpose and knowing the body is just our vehicle for experience then it can serve much good to spiritual growth in a sense. I think it's easier if you try to see it that way rather than some people always ask "Why is god so horrible and make people being born with diseases" and they just can't wrap around what good it would serve to have that experience in the afterlife. That's what I think :)
