Although it is true that a gov't is merely a representative of a people, it is not always the representative of all the people. I have had so many misgivings about our gov't ever since, well, I can't remember exactly. I believe there should be a responsible, reliable authority that voices the beliefs of it's people, I don't see any reflection of this in any of the last "administrations". I personally think that people have become enamored with the materialistic, technological wizardry that we boast of here in the states. I can't say I've bought into it any way near as much as I've seen the younger generation do. I'm disheartened and disappointed. I really do wish the real thoughts and opinions of people were more firmly voiced and echoed by our supposed leaders. They seem to have been taken over by some alien force that doesn't have people's best interests in mind by a fair stretch. In fact, they seem downright fearful of the populace. We are now terrorists, at least the majority of us. Whether this is true or not, I'll let you decide. I don't advocate using force or violence against an enemy who is in actuality possessed by greed, capitalism, and power. How does a sane individual expect to combat an enemy who is clearly representative of a people which idolizes fantasy and fun over realism and hard work with malevolence? I'm honestly perplexed that there are people who believe that owning a gun will keep what is bound to happen from happening. In a previous time, there was someone who stood up against the cabal that was running the show behind the scenes. Of course, he lost his life being so daring. An apt quote from him will illustrate our current status.
"We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation afraid of its people." -President John F. Kennedy
Only the truly brave and courageous will survive the coming times. I'm not that brave, and I don't know about courageous either. However, I can at least try my hardest to do what I know is right without quibbling over whether I should be able to own a gun. Possibly this is a move to make people more dependent on the gov't; the fact is that the people in Washington believe in fairy tales, and they don't have to worry about someone stealing their bread or car when things get real tight. I'm hoping to produce the ability to rely on providence when the time comes. I don't see how using a weapon will help, do you?
