Well birds damage and take down planes pretty regularly. If you believe that planes do not get affected by birds, ask yourself then, why do airports go to great lengths to keep birds away from the vicinity of the airports? Even going so far as to place noise makers and have people onsite to capture and scare away the birds.
As for the vido itself, without footage of what the pilot seen we are just wasting time on this.
