The New Moon of May 18, 2015 (on Monday) will conjunct the star of Algol at 26 degrees Taurus 55 minutes. This star has a reputation per Vivian Robson as being "the most evil star in the sky," but there are positive meanings within some energies of this star. Here are what my notes say:

Hipparchos (circa 160-120 B.C.) and Pliny (23-79 A.D.) made a separate constellation of the Gorgon stars as the Head of Medusa, this descending almost to our own day, although always connected with Perseus.

The Hebrews knew Algol as Rosh ha Satan, Satan's Head, English writer on globes John Chilmead (circa 1639)'s Rosch hassatan, the Divels head; but also as Lilith, Adam's legendary first wife**, the nocturnal vampyre from the lower world that reappeared in the demonology of the Middle Ages as the witch Lilis, one of the characters in Goethe's Walpurgis Nacht.

The Chinese gave it the gruesome title Tseih She, the Piled-up Corpses.

One would think that this is a star to stay well away from. However, Cornelius Agrippa says,

Under the Head of Algol, they made an image whose figure was the head of a man with a bloody neck; they report that it bestoweth good success to petitions, and make him go carrieth it bold and magnanimous, and preserveth the members of the body sound; also it helpeth against witchcraft, and reflecteth evil endeavours, and wicked incantations upon our adversaries. 

"This star seems to contain immense female passion and power" wrote Bernadette Brady. She added:

"Algol represents a strong consuming passion that may devour you with anger and rage. If one can contain an unconscious compulsion to take revenge, and from that passion return a more productive outcome, Algol is one of the most powerful stars in the sky. Whatever planet it affects in your chart will be charged with strong, intense sexual energy that has the potential to be wonderful, of if repressed, to lead to rage or violence."  

  Interpretation And Prediction:

Mercury is in the fifth house, and about to go retrograde (yes, it's that time again) in it's ruling sign of Gemini. This strongly implies that the media will be covering developing news stories that may be developing into possible scandals, especially politically and government-oriented. And because this retrograde takes place in the United States twelfth house, espionage areas and "national security" (or "national insecurity" about such security) may be an important area involved in crisis. 

Venus is conjunct the star of Alzirr, and this star is called "The Revenge of Princes" (along with "loss of fortune" and "towns beseiged"). Venus is also involved with a strong semi-square (45 degree) angle with the New Moon lineup.  Since a semi-square is a minor tension angle and is between organizations-oriented Venus (in the sixth house) and the new-beginnings oriented lineup of the Sun, Moon, and Algol (in the fourth house), this may suggest problems of open conflict (violent or verbal) in open social forums or settings.  This scenario of conflict may be one involving government workers, healthcare workers, police, military, or art-related groups.  

Note that Saturn is close to being overhead, and is still in a good conjunction with the star of Dschubba ("The Crown of The Scorpion"),  This may also imply possible violence due to potential formations of groups of people not in the best of moods (a.k.a. "mobs"),

Finally, Pluto is rising in the twelfth house, and conjunct the star of Vega. This can indicate either good luck in politics or a debauchery of some kind politically. This is because Pluto rules Scorpio, and Scorpio can either be the research expert or the gangster.  And because this is a political season in the United States, we could see someone get crucified politically while someone else rises in popularity.

Late May through early June will hopefully be a period of much debate and less violence.  The United States has been going through an angry and violent spell due to actions of law enforcement and organizations that spy on others.  This New Moon can either place such current actions in better light for examining and correcting, or it may result in potential violent reactions via groups of people.
