Very informative, very inspiring, actually proposes some rational solutions (including doing away with all forms of currency and money systems), wowee! Can legally download this as a DVD from their official website http://www.zeitgeistmovingforward.com/

  • ...good that u posted it again here.....

this film should be screened once per month, in every school, high-school, college and university around the globe, for the whole year...

...its an eye opener, for all the people that can take their heads out of the sand....

  • I'm glad you brought this movie up.  I read a review about it in my local paper and curious to see it, looked it up on Netflix. I opted not to save it to my queue due to the following member review on Netflix:

"You can't tell me a movie that makes one of its primary points (that Jesus-worship is derived from Pagan sun-worship) by pointing out that SUN AND SON (as in Son of God) ARE HOMOPHONES has any sort of intellectual integrity. Considering the English language did not even exist at the time people began to worship Jesus, Im thinking that particular point is not only arbitrary and ridiculous... Moreover ...I was able to identify several claims which were patently false - primarily those regarding various deities the film claimed to have been born of virgins and resurrected. Ten minutes on the internet (consulting sources far more credible than Zeitgeist) revealed dozens more inaccuracies and fabrications."

The elimination of money sounds great to me, but the info above turns me off.  What do you think about that, having seen it?

    • The review you read was likely about the first Zeitgeist movie, which starts out by presenting those ideas. My understanding is that indeed part of the christian mythos is based on very old, maybe even neolithic pagan ideas about how the sun comes to it's lowest point around the winter solstice and appears to stay there for three days, before "resurecting". Plus clear examples of how it borrows from earlier religions, the egyptian in particular. The point made is not so much that the two words are homophones, but that the mythological concepts are symbolically the same. I am curious if the reviewer looked at the companion guide, which is available online at their website, and is extremely thick and flush with sources. Honestly my guess is that the reviewer was christian and was offended by the notion that their religion was in any way derived from paganism. It also suggests that 9-11 was not what it seems and was a pretext for foreign wars, which would likely offend such a person as well. What I have posted here is the third movie in the series, which discusses other more scientific notions, such as the arguments around genetic predetermination and how the financial system works. I would suggest, check it out for yourself and do your own research, keeping in mind that information on the internet is not always the most reliable lol. If the claims are as easy to refute as spending ten minutes then you will not have wasted much time :) Bless!
