It's a simple question really, here on this world. You look around and you see the good, the ugly and the bad but you can't convert these last two to good. If you ask me, you're running on false hope are you not? Even with everything said out there, you won't live to see... well, for most of you.
Any changes? Nope, nothing.
It's all just simple survival now, abandon a few lines of your morals and you get what you want is what I've learned.

“It's like you took a bottle of ink and you threw it at a wall. Smash! And all that ink spread. And in the middle, it's dense, isn't it? And as it gets out on the edge, the little droplets get finer and finer and make more complicated patterns, see? So in the same way, there was a big bang at the beginning of things and it spread. And you and I, sitting here in this room, as complicated human beings, are way, way out on the fringe of that bang. We are the complicated little patterns on the end of it. Very interesting. But so we define ourselves as being only that. If you think that you are only inside your skin, you define yourself as one very complicated little curlique, way out on the edge of that explosion. Way out in space, and way out in time. Billions of years ago, you were a big bang, but now you're a complicated human being. And then we cut ourselves off, and don't feel that we're still the big bang. But you are. Depends how you define yourself. You are actually--if this is the way things started, if there was a big bang in the beginning-- you're not something that's a result of the big bang. You're not something that is a sort of puppet on the end of the process. You are still the process. You are the big bang, the original force of the universe, coming on as whoever you are. When I meet you, I see not just what you define yourself as--Mr so-and- so, Ms so-and-so, Mrs so-and-so--I see every one of you as the primordial energy of the universe coming on at me in this particular way. I know I'm that, too. But we've learned to define ourselves as separate from it.” ~Alan Watts
That's just might be because they're locked in some survival mode when there's never any survival involved. Sure, you got bills and taxes to pay but at least you have your family and friends. They're important as they provide love and happiness as you reflect that as well.
I might not have it now but I prefer a simple life so long it have a loving family I'd create and just basically take a trip through nature and help people.
I guess we all need that little lemon of infinite love to squeeze out.
The notions of: 'false hope'... 'it's taking too long'... 'you won't live to see it'... are merely the result of conditioning the masses into a limited state of Consciousness... a direct byproduct of duality. Nothing more, nothing less. Widen the scope of your viewfinder. It's ALL happening right Now! Such is the nature of the hologram we call Life. To call it exciting would be an understatement from where I stand.
We won't live to see it? Nonsense! As biophysical extensions of the Gaian-Matrix, we are completely enmeshed with "it".... & whether we reside on the surface of the planet, or just beyond the fading veils of duality, each & everyone of us have incarnated again & again to 'play' a significant 'role' in this Divine process. Remember? If not... take a moment to deeply reflect on why you're here... in this moment... in this place... in this time. ~InLight555
“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.” ...“Tomorrow and plans for tomorrow can have no significance at all unless you are in full contact with the reality of the present, since it is in the present and only in the present that you live. There is no other reality than present reality, so that, even if one were to live for endless ages, to live for the future would be to miss the point everlastingly.” ~Alan Watts

Amen and "Ahwomen" . Or as another "Zen" Inspirator phrased it: "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies/lives within us. And when we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen." Henry David Thoreau

I AM and I have! I know plenty of people shifting in this direction... I understand your point though. There are still complacent people sitting on their asses watching TV and eating garbage. But people are waking up... more and more each day. Optimism is key here.
"Abandon all Hope, ye who enter here". Besides a quote from Dante's Inferno it was apparently also the sign that "welcomed" folks to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. It's a good motto for those who have forsaken their own soul connection and who do not believe in the power of the human/divine spirit. If that is what you believe, then surely you may create such a condition for yourself. Energy flows where attention goes. I see hope everywhere abounding. The mere fact that the recent Bilderberg Conference was publicly acknowledge by some mainstream press for the first time is but one sign that the tide is shifting. The 5 day Citizen's Conference for Public Disclosure a month and a half ago is another such sign. Edward Snowden's gutsy revelations are still another. Truth is coming out. General Washington at Valley Forge had "every reason" to sink into despair. Good thing that he and his ragtag starving men didn't succumb to such a sentiment.
:-) Good points...
