There are two things I have seen which concern all humans - love and death.
I have attended many people and saw them dying. And I have become almost insane from the game of love.
Nothing seems to me more dehumanizing than the coldness.
Warmness is the appearance of movement, the flow of processes, the bed of becoming in coming and going, growing and withering, emanation and disappearance.
And coldness is the absense of warmth, an occurence of freezing into dying out of process, into movement of nothing while nothing is moved...
ἀνομίαν ψυγήσεται ἡ ἀγάπη - because of "anomy the love will grow cold" is a word in Matthew 24.
And different from biblical imaginations, Dante Aligheri (Divine Comedy) speaks in Inferno, the 9th level, of hell has a frozen lake called Cocytus (see Inferno: Canto XXXII).
This is indeed the strongest metaphor imaginable: all love and compassion and empathy, all movement of the heart, all signs of being vivid and alive have gone - all is frozen to coldness. This is hell. This is what hell is in essence thus making coldness a basic sign of hell.
And coldness is easily infective. It is the main virus of the intelligent and cool soldiers of fortune. It is the main weapon of the most fearful ones. Giordano Bruno`s words to the inquisitor reading his verdict: Perhaps you pronounce this sentence against me with greater fear than I receive it...
You may see for yourself and consider the sneaky force of that what is evil and sad, sad, sad - coldness...
This is the reason why being human is a dignity which exceeds all imaginations even of angels...
