Friedrich Engels (buddy of Karl Marx) once wrote about work as main tool of humanization of apes - a working animal becomes human.
Not bad, such thoughts, but not enough. It should be said, that language is transforming the animal "human being" into a human human.
It is not only words and grammar and syntax and all such language stuff. It is the appearance of a whole system of something we refer to speaking and understanding. Thus language is a transforming force, a vivid something, a mysterious happening.
There is not only meaning in sounds, expressions and words, but also in speech figures and varbal imagery.
And feelings are expressed for instance in phonetics. And accomplishments in temporal aspects. And, and, and.
Truth is not simply inherent in words, but also in figures and rhetorics. Truth is not simply a word or syntax, but words and syntax can be a medium of truth. A word is like a donkey - you sit on it till it comes to a house, but you yourself have to go into the house.by yourself.
Words and speech is the house of being, and experiencing being as being yourself is not simply done by words but by being in being. Or more simple - by letting all happen what is about to happen and is supposed to happen. Living is experiencing, and speaking is forming experience.
There are old attempts of overcoming tribal thinging by replacing it with universalism. Universalism is the counterpart of tribal thinking. Jahwe was the jewish tribal god and is still today, at least in it`s consequences. And Allah has strong tribal aspects too.
The main example of a paradigm shift from tribal thinking to universalism is the book of Jonah. The little narrow minded Jonah is sad of God saving the people of Niniveh thus proving him a tribal thinker. And the mind of God in the book is the oppoiste - at the end is says: "how can I destroy the people of Niniveh, and you, Jonah, are sad I didn`t so?"
The book of Jonah is a masterpiece of jewish theology by opening a viw to a worldwide universalism. Thus the late exile jewish thinkers are not witnesses of a merciless tribal god thinking. Instead, Jahwe became the universal God of the whole world.
This was the view they had of the Jews in the world - being witnesses of God as universal God.
And btw, the book of Jonah is 2500 years old. Amazing...
