From graph theory we know that different graphs traverse when having same coordinate system. Each unidentical graph is somehow traversing another graph.

Now each living process can be understand as time dependent graph. And different processes may traverse another process once in a while.

We know from math the possibility to exactly calculate sets of different functions with different variables. That is no problem. Graphically speaking, we can exactly calculate any traversing points.

This goes as long as variables are able to to be determined. That is not the case if variables remain unknown. When considering life processes as different time dependent functions with many indetermined and indeterminable variables, any traversing points are unable to be calculated.

But in case traversing points are happening, human mind is tempted to see patterns. There is for instance the phenomenon of paraidolia - seeing patterns and figures in nature, things and happenings etc.

But let us suppose your hand is reaching for the breaker to switch on the light.

In the same moment the earth is quaking for a couple seconds. You are amazed reaching a second time for the breaker.

Again in the same moment the earth is quaking. You are shocked reaching for a third time for the breaker.

And again in the same moment the earth is quaking a third time.

I bet you see this not as a coincidence. Actually we have three traversing points happening of actually  two different time dependent functions ((I) reaching with your hand for the breaker and , (II) the occurence of the earthquake) you interpret as no coincidence. You rather believe there must be a relation. Your mind is telling you a 3 time occurence of an earthquake while switching the breaker is far beyond randomness.

But what really happend was two time dependent graphs traversing 3 times, not more. But you interpret it as no coincidence.

I`m not saying that happenings appearing beyond coincidence have no meaning at all. But from graph theory different graphs must traverse sometimes, and not seldom manyfold and often in short times.

I wanted this to mention in order to explain the reluctance and not seldom doubts many people have regarding reports on happenings being considered beyond coincidence like the story with the breaker.

And, btw, what is wrong with the expression coincidence?  Co in latin means coming together, coincidence is incidences coming together. You have not looked for it, you did not force it, you did nothing. It simply happened, it came to you - incidences came together.

I for my part love the word coincidence very much and find it very fitting...
