    OMG I have felt the same way but that was with my now 18 yr old. I know how you feel. Ive learned that OUR children are all very different. We really cant expect to have a repeat of the older sibling. We as parents end up realizing that we learn anew with each child we raise. They all have different fears or obsessions. For expl: Im a horse nut n I have three boys. I have tried to get my 2 older boys to take an interest as well for quite awhile. Therefore I do believe every child is born with what is programmed for them to do in this life time. We need to learn to read each individual child in order to know what it is in them that we need to nurture to make them feel loved, safe and secure. Which will in turn place the base and add some stepping stones for them to go out n do what is they are meant to do without us. :).

    I like that :) Your last couple of sentences are very inspirational. But my kids are pretty young. I do have an 18 yr old that is VERY open minded and I got lucky there but I also have an 8 yr old and a 2 yr old. I am Very concerned about the new "Paradigm" and for those of us who have children, are we going to have to watch them suffer? Are they just colateral damage?
    It may be easier to understand my concern if you have read what Im currently reading. It is The Handbook For The New Paradigm, Volume 1." It is very interesting! BUT, Im halfway thru and it mentions Nothing about our children during this upcoming extreme human vulnerability period.

    My mom is generally disappointed in me because I don't believe what she believes, and this is a source of great sadness. Don't force your beliefs on your son, it creates a great rift-- and don't make the rift yourself by being despondent about him not believing what you believe. You are on this plane together to learn from each other, not just he from you.

  I understand your worries, i myself will be a parent some day...
  
  Lets be honest, we all had a mind of our own growing up, didn't really listen to our parents or people that surrounded us in our childhood days.
  
  But now... looking back at my childhood... i really do remember mostly every heart-given word of advice received from my mother, niece, relative - people that loved me... and that's what helps me face life's ups and downs today. so don't give up & just keep on loving :)
