This is the kind of writing that isn't going to get anywhere, yet it will.
It is Yang as much as Yin. It is circular - at least that is a definite.
As I was pondering last night, at the very late hour that circumstances found me in, my child's "homework" of "reading for 30 minutes every day," I realized that, more, and more, our lives are getting wrapped up in doing what appears to be "busy work" for others.
Or is it?
On the one hand, we fill our lives with "work," playing in the maze of corporatism and corporealism, doing "stuff" for everyone else with little actual time for our selves. We do this day in and day out, life in and life out, generation upon generation, with each succeeding generation busier than the last despite all the "savings" of our "modernization" techniques.
And therein lies the sadness - "...and you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it is sinking..." goes the Pink Floyd song.
Or does it?
One thought I had while pondering my son's reading "requirement," is that "school homework" occupies quite a bit of his afternoon. Which, for a child his age, takes a great deal away from his ability to express himself. And that, to me, seems sad.
Yet, is it sad really?
You see, and you all know this already, we are all here to express. We are all here to learn "something." (or, in some cases, lots of somethings) We, collectively, aeons ago, had decided to go down this path (you know, the one that lead to our current period), knowing ahead of time all it entailed, etc., and here we are.
So, now, with that particular outlook on things, here is a slightly different angle/lens to view the entire play:
We are doing what we do with the increasing intensity of doing such in order to re-awaken ourselves to the utter "silliness" (just humor me) of it all so that we can thus "awaken" to our True Selves and put the "toys" (of 3D, etc.) aside and "get out of bed."
So, the more I "see" (witness, do, experience, what-have-you) of our modern "lives," the more I realize how "silly" this all seems and the more such serves to remind me of the necessary aspiration to "higher living."
And that is where I'm going to leave off... Something for "ya'll" to think on... :)
