What was the inspiration behind The Sirian Starseed Tarot exactly and could you explain why you titled it this please?

My intention, with the guidance of the Sirian High Council, was to create a new starseed vehicle through which card readers and their clients alike can work through the tarot fundamentals on a higher level. It is directed at helping them to achieve a multidimensional perspective on the meaning of their own lives – in relationship to the immense changes that are occurring in our global societies and in the Earth’s own energy grids. The beautiful keys are intended as tools for meditation and divination. 

2. The art is beautiful all throughout the deck. Would you tell us about Alysa Bartha and her connection to the deck?

Patricia Cori: I chose Alysa for this important project after synchronicity led her to doing a portrait for me that I felt would bring the right energy and talent to the vision I had for these tools for starseed awakening. Drawing from many background photos that I have taken over the years at sacred sites, and from the splendor of the oceans, skies and forests of our beautiful earth, Alysa and I designed the cards together, developing each card via desktop on the web, working with the channeled guidance of the Sirian High Council who directed the process. Some were reconstructions of works she had already created, brought into resonance with the tarot ideology of the deck.

Again and again, we discovered that spirit had actually moved the pixels of the graphic works in progress, and these same spirits often appear in the ethos of the cards. That, I truly believe, is some of the magic that comes into the project from these amazing six dimensional beings with whom I have the great privilege and honor of serving spirit.

3. Could you explain to us more about the Starseed scenario represented in the book and what the card actually means when you draw it from the deck?

Patricia Cori: Many are the starseed beings currently incarnated on the planet, here to assist in the great transition that we all are beginning to recognize is well underway. From light body we descend to take form in the density of this physical reality and from it we shall return to light. The idea of this ball of light landing in the embrace of the earth’s lush field, into the crystal lotus, suggests that we know exactly where we are going and what we intend to do when we come into the lifetime. Once incarnated, this knowing can be masked to us and we pass through the process of remembering who we really are and what we came to do – as we move through our lives, depicted in the ensuing major and minor arcana. The Starseed card is about purity and trust, knowing that where the soul lands, preparing to manifest form, is where it intends to be and that all is in divine order.

4. The Shadow card represents what usually would be the Devil in most tarots. When I draw the card that was an allegory to the Sphinx in Egypt could you explain this and more about the Shadow card?

Patricia Cori: The Shadow (XVII)) and Guidance (V) are aspects and reflections of each other, as are the Devil and the Hierophant in the standard decks. The Great Sphinx stands as a monument to established human belief systems and their iconic worship. As the Guidance card, the Sphinx stands as an effigy to ancient religions and beliefs that have withstood the shifting sands of time, always revered. In the Shadow, she represents those beliefs swallowed up in the night hours of our fear and compulsion, looming cold and menacing over our behavior and desire. It speaks to the idea that the Devil is nothing more than our own fear and the addictive behaviors that keep us bound in its domain, caught in the cobwebs of our own minds.

When this card is understood, it is a great tool of empowerment. We brush away the cobwebs and realize that we are only enslaved in our fear and darkness if we wish to be…

5. When it comes to the Ascension card, could you explain to us exactly what that card represents and when people say the word “ascension” … Is it meant more to be a state of Nirvana reached? Not actually leaving the planet in your body though some in the past may have done this historically possibly.

Patricia Cori: At this time on our great planet, the term “ascension” is used to describe various aspects of our anticipated experience. To some, it refers to our physical departure into a higher dimension, to others, as you say, it describes the achievement of Nirvana or illumination. The need to reincarnate again no longer exists, as we believe we have completed the karmic cycle and are ready to move up the spiral of light.

The card, which replaces THE WORLD, depicts the process of moving from limitation to a higher state of consciousness. The dancer holds the old earth, the physical reality, in her hands and the new earth is beside her. She is transitioning from a more dense form to a lighter state of being. Whether the interpreter sees that as an actual ascension from earth reality to a spiritual realm or higher dimension, or whether it is a metaphor for one’s own spiritual awakening is left with the querent to interpret. The tarot provides many layers of meaning for us to glean as seekers and readers for others.

Nonetheless, many of us do truly believe that not only we but actually the entire solar system is moving out of the density of 3D and onto a higher dimension.

6. So the Transition card is the Death card in the tarot? What is the difference between an ordinary Death card in tarot and your Transition card in your deck?

Patricia Cori: I believe that our perception of death and our own immortality is the quintessential key to not only our spiritual awakening but also our ability to celebrate life in the ‘now’ moment. In the traditional tarot death card, the grim reaper rides a white horse and is depicted trampling over several people – including a king, innocent children. Even the Pope, standing in front of the horse, is unable to stop him. While rich with esoteric symbolism and messages, it still frightens most people who have yet to recognize the cyclical nature of life – and the idea of the eternal soul.

The card in the Starseed deck, TRANSITION, is designed with the intention of helping people to understand that our spirit is infinite and that, upon death of the physical form, we rise from the density and return through the tunnel and back to light. It is intended as one of the most important keys in the deck, to help starseed remember that this is a mere passage and that all is infinite. Naturally, it does still read as the ending of something in the querent’s life, describing how that process transforms into something new.

It is a key of completion, achievement, arrival and fulfillment. Starseed has accomplished what (s)he came to do and can now return to her starseed origins, or climb even higher on the stairway back to the One Flame of Source.

7. The Solar Deity card is of course the Sun card. Do you think in a sense we are all beings of light connected to this source underneath our skin on many levels and for the deck what does the Sun represent?

Patricia Cori: Solar Deity, our sun, is a conscious being. It is the center of our galactic family of celestial beings in what we call our solar system. Around it, we all gravitate to its life-bearing energy, its physical light and warmth, and its infinite radiance. This is our star, up close and comfortable, in galactic measure – and we all are blessed with life thanks to its brilliance.

Throughout distinct eras in human history, the sun was worshipped as a living deity and once again, with so many Starseed born into these times of the great shift, we are connecting the puzzle pieces anew. We are remembering that all celestial beings are conscious beings – and they are gods in their own way, grand and unfathomably powerful…as gods should be! The Ancient Greeks knew the sun as the god Apollo, whose white winged steed flew his chariot across the sky. To the Egyptians it was Ra who traveled in his solar boat through the desert night.

All creation myth holds the commemoration of morning – the return of the sun – and that primordial celebration still lives within us all. Without the sun, all is barren, cold and lifeless.

Sun gods of ancient civilizations were attributed with powers of prophecy. They reigned over music and the arts, healed plagues, and were associated with all things positive, beautiful and light. Hence, it is the most radiant and positive key in the entire tarot theater and drawing it is the most positive energy.

When this key appears to a querent, it is a hallmark of great things in the works. The light of Ra shines down upon the seeker. Bask in it and celebrate the light of the universe. Enlightenment is unfolding. And all that Starseed has encountered and learned, from projections of the self to obstacles on the path, lie behind. It is a gloriously beautiful new day.

8. The Indigo card is the Magician card, which is usually the Fool card aka the Trickster. Why did you choose Indigo for this deck to denote that particular card?

Patricia Cori: The Fool card, 0, is not usually the Magician, number I in the major arcana; rather – the Fool corresponds to our STARSEED card. The Magician is the Fool manifesting form, using the tools of Earth reality and the focused intent to manifest form on Earth. In the generations of children since the 60’s, I believe, many very special souls are coming into the life experience highly conscious, with many gifts. They are starseeds from other planets and systems that are quite possibly more evolved than ours. In this card, the Indigo presents us with the gift of a perfectly faceted crystal, symbol of a highly focused intention to utilize earth’s tools to raise consciousness on the planet.

9. What else would you like to share with us about the deck that people might find interesting when it comes to the forces at work energetically within?

Patricia Cori: I developed the deck with the idea that the seeker would be facilitated to enter, walk through the environment of each key and communicate with the spirits and figures represented. They teach us not only about the arcane wisdom represented there but also about aspects of our own lives and how we experience life in body. They are tools for starseed awakening.

In the process of designing the cards, the artist and I found that often spirits assisting in the creative process would manifest images on their own! I invite the seeker working with the deck to look into the backgrounds to encounter power animals, light beings and spirits who have actually manipulated the pixels to manifest their images in the keys.

10. What is Patricia Cori up to next book wise and project wise that you would like to share with our readers? Thanks.

Patricia Cori: I am currently writing my first novel, THE EMISSARY, which I originally wrote as a screenplay in only two months! The book is scheduled to be released in Fall 2013. Much of my work now is dedicated to my newly founded non profit organization, Save Earth’s Oceans, Inc. devoted to helping save dolphins and whales across the planet. My most recent project, THE SIRIAN STARSEED TAROT, will be accompanied by a training course I am offering in London Nov. 17-18 live, and early next year there will also be an on-line program through exouniversity.org.
