Regulus is a white and ultramarine star in the heart of the Lion, constellation Leo.
Regulus is at 29°59′ Leo with an orb of 2°30.′ The Sun will line-up with this star on August 22, 2015.
“According to Ptolemy, it (Regulus) is of the nature of Mars and Jupiter, but most later authors liken it to Mars only, while Alvidas states that it is similar to the Sun in good aspect to Uranus. It gives violence, destructiveness, military honor of short duration, with ultimate failure, imprisonment, violent death, success, high and lofty ideals and strength of spirit, and makes its natives magnanimous, grandly liberal, generous, ambitious, fond of power, desirous of command, high-spirited and independent. From Regulus, a Little King, and often called Cor Leonis, the Lion’s Heart, and symbolically the Crushing Foot. It was one of the four Royal Stars of the Persians in 3,000 B.C., when, as Watcher of the North, it marked the summer solstice.”

wish I could see the stars
PET ROCK: if you can see the Moon, you can see the stars with a good pair of binoculars or telescope. Telescopes today are not nearly as expensive as they used to be 20 years ago.
NOTE TO STAR-WATCHERS: the Sun is approaching Regulus in the sign of Leo, so be careful gazing at the Regulus / Venus / Jupiter combination during sundown (since the Sun is in zodiac motion and closing in on the zodiac position of the combination).
