The fiat currency known as the dollar collapses.  There are runs on grocery stores, gas stations, and retail stores.  There are gangs of people going through neighborhoods on a stealing spree similar to New Orleans during Katrina.

These are some of the elements the US military is looking at in a war games scenario known as Unified Quest 2011, created to test the event of a currency collapse here in America, or elsewhere.

In an article from Insidedefense.com titled, Army Officials Think Through The What-Ifs Of A 'Global Economic Collapse', the military is planning for a potential, or eventual, global collapse of the dollar, and its ramifications for the American public.

When the military attempts to intervene on American soil, and against American citizens, they must be very cautious not to overstep their authority according to Posse Comitatus.  Posse Comitatus is a Reconstruction Act that came out of the Civil War, and was a promise made that Federal troops would not be used against American citizens in law enforcement activities.

The military and defense department engineers do war game planning for any and all types of potential events, and the Unified Quest 2011 is by no means a action that has moved from simulation into real time planning.  However, it is vital to be aware of this potential, especially as the world rushes towards the fall of one or more currencies in the global monetary crisis that hovers over many nations leading into 2011.

So, since I am not living over in America and our media input/output is also very controlled, is there something like this actually happening?
