I'm an amatuer stargazer, i'd only know a couple of the most obvious constellations like the saucepan (Orion's belt), gemini, southern cross/ pointers and scorpio.
I was wondering after I read an article claiming that Venus wasn't venus, it was a space craft.
A week before reading that article (two months ago now) I noticed a slightly smaller version of venus rising in the night sky, at around 11pm. It rises at around 8pm now, just before Venus sets.
The reason i'm interested in it is because it has a stable shine, it's light dosen't flicker like all the other stars in the night sky. When venus sets, it's the brightest star in the sky. Venus and this star are the only two star's who's light does not flicker.
I assumed that if venus were a planet, this star must be a planet too because it's light is stable. But what planet is close enough to be as bright as venus and be a white gold colour? Venus is a yellow gold, while this new star is whiter. I've never been able to locate mars in the night sky but i'm told mars is red.
I just want to know what planet/ star this star is, I couldn't find any info on the net. It rises in the east. It dosen't appear to be part of any constellation, at least not any I can see by the naked eye.
